"Keystone Commons is a beautiful place. It's like living pretty much in a vacation place. We looked at the memory care unit first, and we did get to see some of the assisted living areas as well. The people were super nice. The place was beautiful and very clean. There were lots of things for people to do, which is mind-blowing. I said, I want to come here. I didn't get to try their food; however, I have a friend whose father went into that particular assisted living, and he loved the food. The building is very nice and laid out very easily to be able to get around. I got to see the dining rooms and the activity room. They have a gym and a beauty parlor. They have outside areas that you can go to, a little golf pad, and a barbecue area. It was very well kept. The room was kind of like a hotel room, so it's decent-sized. Each room has its own closet and bathroom, and you'll be able to kind of walk with a chair in there. It's very well put together."

"The person who took me around River Mills Assisted Living at Chicopee Falls was very knowledgeable. My husband has Parkinson's and Lewy Body and she was very knowledgeable about what residents with those kinds of problems need. When she was describing the programs that they offer there, I was really impressed with them. She was really engaged and very knowledgeable. She cared very much about the residents and explained all the different kinds of activities they have and why they were important. She just knew a lot medically and about how to provide a decent life to people with these kinds of illnesses. I really liked the space, the layout, and the terrace they have for people to be able to hangout outside. This facility was much nicer than the other place I went to. I wasn't that impressed with their main area though. There was TV blasting, but the memory care space was the nicest."

"I've only been living here in Connect55+ East Windsor for a month now. I signed up with them at least three years ago, before they even built it. There are a couple of things I really liked about it. One was that there was a washer and dryer in the apartment. They had crafts and stuff. They had numerous activities going on, and they had garages. I was able to move all of my stuff over to the garage. It's brand new and very clean."

"I found a place, and I put a deposit at Southwick Village. They were wonderful. The person in charge of marketing did a very nice job. He is coming here tomorrow, and I'm signing all the paperwork and maybe even getting a key. The size of the room looked good. The entire place looked magnificent, really. It was so very beautiful. The dining area that I saw is on the first floor, and the first floor is assisted living, so all of those people I saw on the first floor dining room were from assisted living, and they all looked pretty happy with their food. The upkeep of it was very nice. Everything looked beautiful, with tablecloths and candles and the whole thing. Everybody was really nice and welcoming. Parking is a little bit hard to find, though. I had to drive all over to find a parking place."

"I toured Holiday White Oaks. The people were very friendly. The place was well-kept. It looked like a place I wanted to move into, but I couldn't afford it. The food is cafeteria-style, where you sit down at a table and they feed you. They have a computer area for people. It's pet-friendly. It has everything I need."

"My mom moved to Connect55+ Manchester. Everybody's nice, however, on the second day the washing machine broke, but other than that everything has been great. Everybody's been super nice. The staff is nice. If you see anybody, they introduce themselves, tell you what they do, and offer to show you around. They're very kind and helpful, and a really nice group. The facility is nice and clean. Everything's brand new. They've just built it these past years. They've got a full-time activities director. She's got everything and we did charcuterie boards one night. There's some kind of exercise thing every day. They have movies and there are games. My mom has a two-bedroom apartment for $2,100 in a full community with activities and comes with a washer and dryer and trash service. It's pretty good."

"Buckingham Heights was only dedicated exclusively to memory care so that they can address every need at every stage, whatever happens to your loved one who's got dementia. Suzanne assisted us with the tour and she was wonderful. She's been there a long time and can answer any question you have. The other shining star thing that I would say about the place was that they had a lot of staff who have been there for many years. They have relatively low turnover and there is a lot of staff. They have like a 5-year, 15-year, and 20-year club for those staff who have been there that long. The dining area looked very nice. The rooms were basic but pleasant. The idea there was not to spend all your time in your room. So, the room was just a place to dress and bathe and sleep. But the life of the place was based on keeping the residents engaged and active. When it comes to the activities, they are appropriate for people with memory issues. They have an inner courtyard that is freely available for residents to go into on their own. For the outside patios, you need to have somebody with you. Even their physical facilities were designed to give the most freedom and autonomy to their residents."

"Hoffman SummerWood Community was a very nice community. It's a Jewish community pretty much. It was very friendly and I met the rabbi there. My friend is a pretty devout Catholic, and I thought this might not be the best place for her. I didn't see a lot of Christian things going on. It's not all Jewish, obviously, but it was a different environment than the other places that I saw. It's a very warm community and a very pleasant environment. They have book clubs, chess clubs, and writing clubs. They'd go on field trips to the shopping centers and whatnot."

"I toured Addison Place at Glastonbury. They were kind and professional. They made you feel welcome. Debbie was very nice in explaining different options of what we would have for the style of living. They had patients in their 70s, which is what I needed because some places have a much older clientele, and I was trying to stick with something more age-appropriate. They answered questions. They've worked with me through this and trying to make this happen. They gave me a blueberry loaf to bring home, which was good. The building was nice and clean."
