My aunt has lived at Madigan Assisted Living in her own one bedroom apartment for the past six years. We drop in to visit on our way through Houlton, usually about every two or three months. The first time we visited, I was impressed with the convenience of her apartment; it was very well laid out, nicely decorated (she was able to bring her own furniture!) and ultra clean. According to my aunt, the staff at Madigan are wonderful at keeping everything in tip-top shape. She's really happy living there; she has friendly and helpful staff who see to her needs, but she has a large degree of independence. She's an active 82 year old who plays cards, attends all forms of on site entertainment from concerts to bingo games. She kept her own car at first, and even had a parking spot. After seeing how the residents are treated at Madigan, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone who needs an assisted living apartment in this area of Aroostok County.
