"Azalea Estates of Monroe seemed very nice and clean. The director was very knowledgeable and answered any questions that I had. She's been there 17 years, so she is obviously a good director, and then she told me about the activities director and some of the activities. They have quite a few activities to keep the residents busy for the ones that can do those. The room looked nice, but a little bit smaller than the one that I had seen. It had a refrigerator and a small stove."

"We chose to move our father-in-law here because of the personal kitchen that they can get. The staff we met were very helpful and very caring, and they get back to us as soon as possible if we have questions. It's nice. He likes his accommodations so far. It's a great location. The facility is a very accommodating place. The first day we went there, they were all at an event, playing and having fun. It's a very nice place, very well kept and they give great care to the people that are there."

"I had an in-person tour of Russ Place. Everybody there was really, really nice, and very patient. They took time with my dad. We met the nurses and even the people that were cooking. We met some of the residents, and everybody was really nice. The apartment was really, really nice. Everything was good. They showed us some of the activities that they had going on, like the movie night, and they were getting ready to do one actually that night, and it was nice. We didn't eat, but they gave us a menu. They let us know that it would be different things that he could order, kind of like restaurant-style. They're just letting us know that there would be options for his particular needs. They have a beauty/barber salon and a spa, they do Bible studies, and they have game nights."

"Mom is in Arbor Terrace, and the staff is excellent, very kind, helpful, and accommodating. The food looks decent, and the rooms are small but they congregate in the main area most of the time. The sanitation and safety of the place is perfect. The activity room and dining room -- which is a combination -- probably could use a little updating. "

"My mom stayed at LandMark and she was well taking care of and from Administration, Nurses, Aids and staff the people were so caring and treated my mom like family just as well as those visiting her. I will recommend this facility to anyone that has an issue with an elderly family member. "

"The staff, environment, the one on one care and attention given to residents at StoneyBrook far exceeds anything I could have hoped for when I could no longer keep my Mother at home. The staff cares and understands the disease process associated with their residents. The administrators and staff pay attention to details for every resident. They have a phenomenal full time activities director that is amazing with everyone. The facility is very clean, comfortable, and gives the feeling of home. Being able to enjoy the outdoors when the weather is permits, is a added perk as well. We are blessed to have such an outstanding facility in our community."

"When my sister and I walked in, West Monroe Guest House was nice, beautiful, and relatively new, but there didn't seem to be very many people working. They didn't seem to have as many staff members. We didn't see anybody outside. I guess everybody was in their rooms with the doors closed. I liked the building and all, but my sister said that she didn't get a good feeling about the place. "

"I liked it very much. The rooms looked fine, but they didn't have a room available in the memory care section, and we needed to move. The staff who assisted us was great, she was very informative, very personable, and I liked her a lot. The whole facility was very pretty, and it was not as big as the others."

"I filled out a whole application on Claiborne Creek. The pricing was great, but they said I made too much to live there. A friend of mine lives over there, so I had seen her apartment. I was very impressed with the apartments. The physical facility was clean. They provide meals for $2 a meal. I saw a studio, and it was pretty small, but it was a lot bigger than other places. The one-bedroom apartments were well-taken care of. We looked at one before my friend moved there, and they provided a washer-dryer. They didn't have a dishwasher, but they had a stove and a nice big closet. I waited about an hour, and then I saw somebody. For activities, they have had cards and different games and things like that. I think the value for money is very good, that's why I want to get in there."

"Everyone at The Oaks was friendly to me on my visit. That is to be expected, but, as I walked around, I couldn't help but notice that the staff seemed to have a good relationship with the residents, as well. There were groups of residents socializing here and there, and a larger group engaged in an organized exercise class. The leader of the group was reminding the participants of modifications they could do in order to participate at their own level. Although they were exercising, there was plenty of chatter and they were clearly having a great time.Something else that struck me on my visit was the cleanliness and, well, "normal"-ness, of the facility. As a child, I had always hated visiting older relatives, because of the hospital smells. There is not even a hint of that. It's not a fancy place, but the rooms look comfortable and are neat and clean. The bottom line: it was a place that I would feel comfortable staying at myself someday. "

"From the moment you walk through the doors of this facility, you feel the sense of community and love that the employees and residents feel for one another. The facility is well maintained and ran by an excellent staff of professionals. We had toured another facility in Monroe and one in West Monroe, but kept being drawn back to St. Joseph's. My grandmother chose a studio apartment which is nearly 500 sq ft and was able to accommodate all of the things she wanted to bring from home. The other facilities apartments were much smaller and the rent was more expensive. She has been at St. Joseph's for a year and a half now, she is very happy and content. The staff goes above and beyond in all ways to make sure your loved one is happy and has everything they could possibly want or need. I could go one singing there praises indefinitely. I would encourage any family looking for an assisted living for your loved one to definitely go by for a tour, you will be impressed "

"My mom stayed at Ouachita Healthcare and Rehabilitation. They took care of her. She seemed pleased with the service. She didn't have any complaints or anything, and I didn't see any issues that concerned me when I was there. There was a physical therapist on site that helped her start recovering and kind of getting mobile again, so that went really well. The facilities look great. It was well-kept and the staff seemed attentive and organized."

"My dad has been at Northeast Louisiana War Veterans Home for 2 weeks now. They gave me a lot of really good support in knowing the best timing to place him. My father has Alzheimer's, so it's important that we timed it well. After he was admitted, they gathered a group of people together as his care team to make sure that his medical needs were met, as well as his special needs. So, I was very impressed with that. The staff has been amazing. They would always greet you when you passed by them in the hallway. His room is good, no complaints there. It's a simple room and it's working fine for us. Because he is in the memory care unit, he doesn't eat a lot in the dining area. But when I went on the tour, their dining area was quite nice. One of the things that they have there is a flight simulator, which is pretty cool. They also have Friday bingo. Wherever you go into any of the common areas in each of the wings, you'll see staff members there actually playing games or sitting with the residents. They're not ignored. "

"I have no complaints at all with the service of Farmerville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Everybody from the housekeeping to the therapists to the nurses was fine with me, even the person who gave me my bath. They had private and semi-private rooms. The room I had was very nice. The grounds were well taken care of, bushes were trimmed, and bird feeders were filled up. The location was in a wooded area, right off of the main highway. When you're sitting in your room looking out, you can see birds and deer. Every few minutes, there was somebody in the room cleaning something. I had my hair done, went to a bingo game, and listened when there was a Church choir singing. If I had to go back to a nursing home, I'd go there again."

"The staff at Ruston Nursing and Rehab are great. They really care about my mom and the other residents. When I go there every day I feel that my extended family has been there taking care of my loved one . I really like the point they have 4 RNs there during the day assisting the LPNs and CNAs. I believe the new leadership will continue to ensure the residents are happy and taken care of. "

"Our family has made the difficult decision to put a loved one in a nursing facility in Bastrop. After visiting all of the facilities in the town, we chose Summerlin. The two unannounced visits we made to Summerlin found the residents in numerous activities and very few in their beds or rooms. There is widespread interaction of the staff with the residents. The facility was very clean on our visits and had no odor. The facility is undergoing a renovation right now, lighting, flooring, painting; but their technology (nurse call systsem) is still somewhat dated. It still works, but is limited to the technology current at the time the building was built. "
