We visited Pegasus Landing of Overland Park and saw their assisted living facility. We didn't understand the difference when we went there, so it was a nice visit, but it was not the correct visit. It is assisted living, and we did not need assisted living. We knew pretty quickly that it was not what we needed, but it's a nice facility if that's what you're looking for. It was just not for us. We did the tour, and it was nice, but we didn't know what we were doing because we were still learning. The lady who showed us around was very nice. The facility was also very nice for what it is, but it is not for an independent person. They do have a lot of activities, and I'm sure they have great things for people who need assistance. It was very clean, and the tour guide seemed to be very on top of her game and her facility. Because it's truly assisted living, there's no kitchen, and it's much smaller.

My mother is in here. I don't think she's satisfied with the food, but they said they're working on it. Everybody on the staff is great. Her room looks nice and fancy, she's got a great view and everything, she also likes it. There were several rooms to pick from, but hers overlooks the front where there's a lot of activity. She goes down to the dining area but she's having difficulties with the food, and it's been brought up in a discussion. So they're aware of it and working on it. They have a lot of activities like bingo and lots of things there. They have everything, it's a great place. The surroundings were excellent.

My father-in-law will be moving in. They are very accommodating. They have knowledgeable and helpful staff. The place is very clean and welcoming, and they have a welcoming environment. They have a salon, different dining areas, and a gym for physical therapy. They also had fresh-baked bread and desserts at the front desk for their residents. They do have transportation to and from appointments.

I came very close to placing her here except that it’s farther away. Everybody that I dealt with was professional. I could have easily placed my mother in any of this, no question it would have been a great place for her with the exception that they were bigger, and in the end I really needed her to be in a small place. The apartments would have been perfect for her, and there was nothing that wouldn’t have worked other than the size.

My mom has been here since the end of May, and things seem to be doing well. She has physical therapy that goes well. They have her settled in. She is really enjoying all the activities. The food is very good. I like that it is a smaller place and not as large as the independent living she used to live in. They are providing the amount of care that she needs. She can still do things for herself, but they are keeping a watchful eye to keep her safe.

My husband is currently living in here. The staff is fine. He is in a wheelchair, and he is getting a lot of assistance. It is clean, and they do the laundry. The food is OK. It is a nice place.

It was nice, but my mom doesn’t want to move to Kansas; she wants to stay in Missouri. The staff has been very helpful.

My grandmother is at Freedom Pointe at the Brookdale community. We are happy with it, it’s a clean facility, and the staff is great. I know that my grandma is doing very well, and I know that she has been taken care of, and we are very pleased with the place. I have not tried the food. However my grandmother likes it.
