Lexington Square in Keokuk is the best facility with nurses, CNAs and RTs that I have ever seen. I had a nurse call me the other night; they've sat with Mom numerous times and held her hand because she was anxious and there's no family there. They are wonderful. They discovered her stage 5 cancer, which three different hospitals in the last year haven't been able to do. It's a very small facility, but the rooms are wonderful. She has her own private bathroom, which does not have a shower or whirlpool, but they have up-to-date TVs and a full cable system. The rooms are always kept really clean and have windows with birdfeeders outside of them. They have a doctor on-call once a week and nurse's physician on-call twice a week. When a new client comes in on a vent, they have one respiratory adviser that is specifically for that family and patient, and they go through as much as background history as they can get. They have one nurse per six vent patients, one RT, and three care members. There is a really high level of care there. She still gets up twice a week to go to the whirlpool, physical therapy, and the main room to sit and people watch. They keep her actively involved in the community. They are amazing. She has been in and out of care facilities for the last four years, and they are what every facility should be.

THE NURSES WERE SUPER NICE AND VERY PROFESSIONAL. They were very patient with both of my grandmother's. I loved how thorough they were at their job and always gentle. The nurses made everyone who came to visit very comfortable and welcome. I loved how the facility offered several different activities for the residents such as bingo, card night, and holiday parties.
