"River Terrace is new and it seems to have everything that a person could want. It's a very nice community. The room is very new and very nice. I could have the things I need there like my television and my computer. The lady I talked to was very nice."

"When my husband first got out of the hospital after his surgery, he went to River Terrace Health Campus. He was there for like five days. His wound became severely infected, and he had to have another surgery because of that. The hospital sent instructions for treating his wound every day. I just assumed River Terrace was doing it, and I never actually checked the wound, which I should have. I blame myself because I didn't check on them. Then I got a call on the fifth day saying that one of their nurses said that his wound was infected and he needed to go to the ER. When I got to the ER to see him, the wound was horrible, and it didn't get that way in just one day. It's fairly new. It was a hospital here in Madison, and they converted it into a nursing center. They have rehab, and they also have apartments for the elderly on one of the floors. They have assisted living. It's a nice, beautiful-looking place. They have a lot of activities for the clients. If you didn't have a serious wound or something that needed to be treated, it would probably be an okay place. My husband was in a private room."

"The rooms were dirty. The bathrooms even worse. Interactions with Staff? Really....they were the worse people I have ever interacted with in my life. I have to assume that the staff receives training on how to be rude to patients and their guest. Only activity I saw there was smoking. Signs in the rooms give the smoking times. Or as the sign says "Smokeing Times"......And they were gathered up like cattle and sent them on their way. The community should do something about this place. Either close it or restaff... My sister died there. She died in the worst conditions anyone should die in.....And yes, I was there to see it all happen......"

"We have had our loved one at the waters for a few years now. We have tried another facility prior and that facility was a joke. I will say we have had a rocky road getting things handled but honestly I can say now that was a lot more on our end and not the administration/nursing. The facility is on the smaller side, and alot of YOUNG faces but I can say my grandfather is well taken care of. I know he hates being bothered with anything. But I have seen first hand the aides going out of their way to make him more comfortable for things he hated most which that it's self is. An accomplishment!!. There may be a few staff members that could smile a little more :) but all in all I would recommend this facility. They have improved and grown alot these last few years under new management."

"The nurses did not have a great bedside manner, they seemed to more in a hurry to get the job done and did not put a lot of care into their work. The CNA's, however, were awesome. The ladies that I had contact with there treated my friend with compassion and care while still enabling him to keep his dignity and class. Seeing this really changed my opinion about assisted living facilities. The Waters of Dillsboro was clean and well-kept. They served nutritious meals and had staff that assisted some residents with eating. The staff showed patience and seemed to really care about the people they were helping. I did notice that the CNA's would occasionally do some things that only nurses are permitted to do. for instance, a CNA changed a bag collecting bowel movements before cleaning a resident up because the nurse was taking a very long time, and the resident was uncomfortable in the mess. The CNA even stated that she was not suppose to do that, but the lady started crying, so she did it anyway. I do not believe that she was being a bad assistant, but the nurse was not up to par. "

"I volunteered at silver bell nursing home about 5 years ago and it was an amazing experience. The facility was in great condition very sanitary clean and organized. The residents were well taken care of. I enjoyed the opportunity to meet and spend time with the employees and residents of this facility. I think the dietary feed the residents well and they had a great variety. I love working with the mis fortunate and making a difference in someones life. The residents were like family. I would go back and volunteer any time. They had all the correct lifts and equipment that you would need. the grounds were well maintained and it was just over all a homey and peaceful place. You wouldn't look at it like a nursing home. I would highly recommend this placement for anyone who needs the help. They can expect all the great things you would receive at home but you wouldn't be in the comfort of your own home. All in all. I would rate this facility a nine on a scale of one to ten "

"My mom stayed at Thornton Terrace Health Campus. The place was very good and my mom was well taken care of. The people and the staff were very nice, down to earth, and caring. We just couldn't afford the price. I liked that it's really close to home, so it was really convenient. They kept Mom active and they also took her on field trips. They kept her motivated."

"My mother is a resident of this facility. She suffers from Severe Dementia and Advanced Parkinsons. I am her Guardian. I receive NO communication as to her physical or medical condition unless I demand it. I am notified as SOON as there is a financial issue, however. This was the only facility that offered a Medicaid bed at the time of her transfer. That does not mean she should receive subpar care and consideration nor should I. "

"Roomy and bright, large screen color tv, internet in room/wifi, rooms not curtains separate guests, share a walled bathroom, and share a very large walk in closet for both clothes and personal items Excellent medical care, highly trained nurses, therapists, therapy is great, 3 to 5 days a week, therapy rooms large and bright. Staff are respectful and caring , call me once a week for update. Call me for any changes good or bad. High rating from Medicare. They accept Medicaid and Medicare plus insurance. Good relationships with hospital, which is 14 minutes away. Very kind like being at home with friends"

"Countryside Meadows was really nice, and it's more down to earth than most of the other places I visited. The residents were just chilling and they looked like they were just at home. One lady was laying back in a recliner and one man was just chilling in his bed like normal people. It was a more normal atmosphere than all the other ones that I visited. The facility was like an old house, but with updated rooms. The price range was in the right area for me. I liked the person running it. They were very non-judgmental and probably would have more patience with your relative. I was really impressed with the management staff more than everything else. I got the feeling that they would be kind to my mother. You don't have to pay extra for the memory care. It's like you're going to somebody's house that you know. The manager was involved with everything like the cooking and the cleaning."

"My sister-in-law is at Pine Knoll Assisted Living. They provided her with furniture, chairs, and dressers in her unit, while I got her a little refrigerator. The place is very clean. They provide all the meals and nursing services, and they have a hair salon, a podiatrist, and social activities that they promote and religious activities, too. I know Lori quite well, who is the manager of the place, and they always say hi to you when you walk in. I think the value for the money is extremely good. Plus, they accept Medicaid."

"Everything is very clean, food is good and appropriate temperature when served. Most Aides and nurses are very compassionate, caring, knowledgeable, but if salaries were increased, I feel staff could be retained for longer tenures. "

"I toured the Ridgewood Health Campus and that place is fantastic, but it's expensive. It's more than my dad could afford. The community was clean, neat, and heavily staffed. The food was great. They have caterers that come in with treats every day. I mean, it's just an amazing place. The staff was friendly, accommodating, helpful, happy, and smiling."
