"My parents have an apartment reserved at Brazil Villas of Holly Brook. They are moving into a two-bedroom, two-bathroom assisted living apartment. It is very nice and brand new, so everything is clean and shiny. The dining room seems very nice. The activities are a little bit on the scarce side because the facility is not full yet. The people are very caring and have made my mother feel very comfortable, so that's where she wants to go. The grounds are very nice."

"My mother broke both her ankles and we had no choice but to place her there for rehab to home. Great care, therapy did an amazing job. She got better and went home and is doing well."

"My grandmother lived in the Assisted Living Community at Asbury Towers in Greencastle, In., while recovering from a hip fracture. The facility is beautiful, the nurses are amazing, and they even have an Aviary with lots of colorful birds for the residents! The food was amazing, I ate with my grandmother a few times while visiting, and I wanted to stay!The nurses were very attentive, and developed relationships with the residents, which was nice. My Grandmother talked a lot about the nurse who would bring her new baby granddaughter to visit the residents.The care she got at Asbury was excellent, and I would definitely recommend checking into Asbury if you have a relative in need of care in the Greencastle area. "

"Ivy Trace Greencastle was the one that you would go down to go to a parking lot. It wasn't as clean, but it had more room. They had a bedroom area, a sitting area, and a kitchenette. It has basically two rooms, and I liked the two-room idea, but the quality wasn't there. I didn't think there was quite enough staff at hand. For my sister, she needed medications given to her four times a day. They usually had one person on staff at night, and I didn't feel that it was enough to accommodate the things that my sister needed. She was a little more handicapped, and I felt that wasn't quite for her. If you were not handicapped or anything, I thought, they were probably a good place because it was spacious. The dining area was nice. They had nice round, wood tables, and I thought at that time, there were only 13 residents there. I didn't see a lot of people or anything, but they kept their grounds nice, and it was a whole lot cheaper. It was probably about $900 cheaper than where my sister was right now. The lady there that helped us was very nice. We really considered it, until I realized that I didn't think there was enough staff to accommodate the different needs of my sister. "

"My husband had broken his hip, so I had to find a place for him fast. I had put him in one place, which was a good place, but it was really rather expensive, so I had to get something that was a little cheaper and still had a good rating. And caring.com gave me Hickory Creek; I went over and checked it out, and I thought, "Well, it is small, it's OK, the price was definitely right, and it still has a good rating." So I moved him into there, and he seems to be doing well. He has Alzheimer's, he is in the last stages, and he is actually kind of laughing a lot and interacting with people more than he did, so this is a really nice place. The staff is absolutely fine. They already know my name, they know his name, and it is just great. The only reason I give them a four is because they don't have soft drinks, and my husband enjoys soft drinks. "

"I'm in Miller Asbury Apartments, and my brother got to move into the same building that I'm in, but it is a handicap setup. There are a lot of senior things, like handrails and bars. He got to keep his pet. It is a community. Almost everyone is involved. We have dinners down in the community room, and we play bingo once a month, and we're located right next to the city park. There's a Farmers' Market on Saturdays over there and different events, with the parades for Christmas and Santa, and there's music in the park every week in the summer. We're located next to a community college, and if someone wanted to go to the plays they have on campus, they have a very wonderful theater group. It's very good, and it is open to the public. The people are very friendly here. It's really soundproofed. You don't have to worry about your neighbor banging around too much. There are no nurses here at all. You cook your own food. They take good care of the facility. We get to decorate the community room, and it's always nice and cozy. We play a lot of cards and board games. We have a city bus called Rural Transit, and it's handicapped and wheelchair accessible. You can go to Walmart, Kroger, or anywhere you want to go, and they have a bus schedule. The mailman delivers outside in a big box, so you don't have to walk too far for your mail. As far as utilities, all you pay for is your cable and electricity. The water, sewage, and trash are included in the rent. It is a gated type community where you have to enter a code to get into the building. It's secured."

"We were really impressed with Cannon Inn and mom is on the waiting list. The rooms were really clean and everything looked well-organized. She is looking forward to get in there. They have structured activities and stuff to do so she wouldn’t be left on her own. They also have a nurse onsite to dispense her medicines. The have Bingo, get-togethers, they have a hairdresser come in and they take you to the doctors and shopping. There seem to be something going on all the time. "

"People can write or say anything about The Waters that they want to, BUT when you have a step-father (Stan, that you love like a father) that has been with them for quite a while now, all my wife and I can say for EVERYONE that works there are FANTASTIC, we understand it can be tough for the staff to get there as soon as the button get's pushed and the light goes on,but as soon as someone gets there the patient is taken care of. The Waters is NOT your all fancy place but it's a GREAT place to have someone that you care for,being taken care of 24/7 and you don't have to worry about them. "My brother is at Ben Hur Health & Rehabilitation. It's beautiful. It's got three porch areas that they can go and sit. The inside is clean and nice. It's really nice. The staff was very nice, considerate, and friendly. They're really great. The facility's overall condition is very clean, very well-kept and very nice. When we first took my brother in, they came in and asked him about the meal that night what he wanted. They were serving catfish, and that is just really unusual. The menu sounded wonderful. The dining room areas are pretty. They're really nice. They have a salon too. They have all kinds of things that they're going to be doing."
