"My brother is in Fairmount Homes for rehab. It's been wonderful, absolutely wonderful. It's beautiful, well run, well taken care of, and the nurses are all so nice. It's a great place to be. They're open and honest. They talk so you can understand what they're saying. So many of them use professional words that Mr. and Mrs. don't understand, but these guys are really good. They have a cafe, and it's OK. It's right on the very top of a ridge. You could see five miles in either direction."

"We visited Furnace Creek Manor because we knew someone who lived there. It was like a regular apartment where you cooked your own meals. The place was very secure because no one could get in unless allowed by the residents. There was a community room where they did the activities. "

"I will move into The Residence at Village Greens. I liked it a lot. It's very nice. The people are nice. The rooms are beautiful. They're very modern and cozy. I tried their food and it's very good. They have a good chef. The facility itself is beautiful. They really take care of it. It's all decorated for Christmas now and it looks beautiful. I think the people are their best feature. They're very friendly and upbeat, and so is the staff. They're very nice, too."

"Garden Spot VIllage is quite far away from our ranch home in Tennessee, but visiting and learning about it was one of the best decisions that my husband and I have ever made. It has such a wonderful atmosphere and authencity... Everyone is so friendly and happy that it's a pleasure to walk the campus. We attended one of their Look and Learn events, and that sold us on the idea of spending the rest of our lives here. There's so much to do, and even as future residents we get invitations to their events. My husband is already a preliminary member of the wood shop and train room there, and i'm interested in the wellness department and its water volleyball league. The worst part is the wait! It's going to be at least a year or two before we'll be able to move in due to the demand. I suggest moving in earlier than later. The hardest part will be downsizing our house, but we have so much junk to get rid of I don't think it will be a problem! "

"Our family had a very good friend who lived at the Highlands in Wyomissing, PA for over five years. I always loved going there. I found the building and grounds well cared for, the residents well respected, and the staff extremely patient and concerned. I sometimes spent the night with our friend, and never once did I observe anything of concern. I especially liked the fact that everything seemed to be provided for the residents there. There was cleaning service, a beauty salon, dining areas (of course), and a pool. Early on I had some questions about the administration there. The questions were not because of any concerns I had, but just because I wanted to be sure our friend had asked them all and had a clear understanding of what her situation would be. I met with an administrator and they provided all of the answers to my questions in a way that was kind, gracious, and forthcoming. "

"We went to an open house at Luther Acres. We tasted the food, and we visited different apartments. They were renovating a lot of the older parts. Everything was very nice. They had a lot of activities. It's out of our price range though. They have a movie room and restaurants. Their apartments were a little bigger than the ones at the other facility. The lower priced ones were bigger and they have full kitchens. You have your choice of eating in your own apartment or you can go to different dining rooms or restaurants. They have a pub where you can get what you want but they have separate dining rooms if you want to go down and eat. The staff members who were helping with the open house all seemed very nice. They have a fantastic chef. It's in a country setting. It's on the outskirts, just outside of Lititz."

"United Zion Retirement Community is very clean and well-kept. Their food is very good. They could use a little more staff. They're very nice, but each person has plenty to do. It doesn't have a swimming pool or some of the health things that other places have. I think the cost is a little less because of that. It's very well established. It's been here a long time. They have local people doing the cooking. I know they have invited some of the people who are in independent living to come into the kitchen and help them prepare food. They allow some of that, such as green beans, that they just need to have the ends snipped off and broken into pieces, things like that, not necessarily things that they would need to use a knife. I don't think they do a lot of trips and things like that. It's a very good value because it's a very safe place and very low key and I think that makes it very safe. There's nothing here I would improve. It's very secure. I chose it because of availability and reasonable rates plus their reputation here in town is excellent. They will be opening a new building and have 36 new apartments."

"My mother attends this facility and she is very happy with it (even though she was skeptical about it before trying it out). The staff is very caring and the care and activities are exceptional. "

"I visited Moravian Manor twice because my girlfriend was very interested. It was very nice. The people were very nice, but I don't want that community. I don't want to go outside in the wintertime. Very few things are connected. If you want to use the swimming pool, you have to use the community swimming pool at Lititz. They don't have their own pool or anything. Everything is so scattered. I don't want to go outside; I want everything connected. It's a beautiful community if you want to go outside in the winter. The apartments were very nice. They were a little bit bigger than most of them are. However, I was not impressed with their dining area. It was not elegant in any manner. It was tables, chairs, and vinyl flooring. The staff were all very pleasant. The maintenance looked very good. It's a beautiful community if you like to go outside to do things, but their big apartment wasn't connected to anything."

"My mother was a resident at Country Meadows for her last 6 years. Her accommodations were comfortable. We felt that she was well cared for. The residence was clean and tastefully decorated. The staff was courteous, cheerful, and caring. Our visiting was unrestricted and welcomed. As my mother's health declined, the staff went out of their way to allow her to stay in assisted living. She was temporarily moved to a building for more attention when she had a temporary setback. While it was a difficult transition for Mom to go into a home after 90 years of independence, she appeared to enjoy the variety of activities offered. She was shuttled to her appointments, for occasional excursions, and for shopping. We believe that she made a good choice to enter Country Meadows. "

"I've visited a number of retirement communities that--on the surface--appeared exceptional; however, most ended up falling short of expectations due to various reasons (ie. lack of profession, lack of sanitation, poor atmosphere, costs disproportional to offerings, etc). The Brethren Village Retirement Community of Lancaster does not fall into this grouping. From the moment I walked through the doors, I was impressed by the skills and professionalism of the staff. Unlike other facilities, Brethren Village employs trained, educated professionals. You need not worry whether your loved on is receiving proper treatment at this location. Additionally, the facility is properly maintained and cleaned. It could easily be mistaken for a high-rated hotel. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. My only complaint with the facility would have to be the lack of nearby entertainment. The closest mall or shopping outlet isn't exactly close, but fortunately, the facility itself offers a wide range of entertainment options and activities. At the end of the day, I'd have a hard time recommending a better establishment. "

"I moved into Neffsville Terrace. It's in the area I need. It's got a country feel to it. There are places to walk. People are friendly. The staff is very nice. And the food is very good. It's very well taken care of. I like the book review."

"I visited Edgemont Terrace Apartments and it was rundown. The doors and windows were hanging. They only had shared one bedroom apartments. The woman I talked to smoked in the office and it smelled horrible. "
