"I never would have believed that the care my stepdad has received from the Van Duzer home was possible. We moved my dad from another well known and larger facility that I thought was giving him a good quality life but as his condition progressed they were unable to provide him with the level of care he required. Brian and Donna welcomed him and treated him like family from the first moment he set foot in their home. He is pampered. They keep him clean, trimmed, and comfortable. They have a calm, fun nature and the caregivers they hire are the same. The food is gourmet, organic, fragrant and healthy. The home is impeccably clean. The rooms are large. My stepdad is very happy. Donna and Brian's attention to details makes my stepdad's day enjoyable and fun. Their sense of humor is infectious. He has lost unwanted weight, and overall health and mood greatly improved. What a blessing! Words cannot express the deep gratitude we have for the Van Duzer home. Their fee was comparable to his former home but the family atmosphere Donna and Brian create is priceless."

"I went to look at Mountain Valley Manor. I like that they have required mealtimes that everyone is expected to gather for unless they have a reason not to, because not eating has been one of my mother-in-law's problems. I liked that they had some activities going on when I was there. They do the laundry for you, but you can do it yourself if you like. They encourage a level of independence, but they also allow you to get lazy about things. My mother-in-law will take her own showers, but she wants somebody standing nearby lest she have a fall or something, and they are good with that. They don't require you to accept the extra level of help if you're not actually in need of it, so that seems really suitable. The staff was quite pleasant and personable, and she was excited to show off her place of work. The dining area looked nice. They had a beautician who came in, and they had a room space assigned to her. They have activities, a bus that runs them to offsite shopping and tours, and an onsite doctor. They had physical therapy available. There was a small library, and they permitted pets. They had a garden area in the back."

"The experience we had when we toured at Woodland Pond was very positive. The staff was very friendly and very nice. The rooms were spacious. They have many activities and that was a very nice thing. They play cards, they have lots of walks and hiking, they have gardens if you want to work outside. They also have a bus that takes you to shopping and to the performing arts center. They have cocktail hours in the evening and they also have reading groups. We had lunch there and the food was acceptable. "

"I've moved to Red Hook Commons. They have a movie night, and they have a library that we can go and use. We cook our own food, there are almost 20 apartments here and everyone does for themselves. Some have wheelchairs and some have walkers. The staff is very friendly and nice, they keep up with everything. The foreman is very helpful and he does his job well. One of the residents likes taking care of the flowers and trees around the area so he does that in his spare time. As far as I know, there are only two activities. They have a veterinarian close by, and they allow small dogs here. There's also a library nearby, there's an ice cream place near here, and a grocery store, and it's not too far from the hospital. So it has everything."
