"My wife and I are residents of StoryPoint Collierville. I'm a very picky person about eating and the food here is very good. You have many choices. You have two entrees to choose from every night and four sides. You can start with a salad and if what they present is not what you would like, they have six other choices on the menu every day, like hamburgers, bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich, a super salad that has boiled eggs in it and everything else. If you can't find something to eat, you are in a bad situation. The other residents here are all very welcoming and very nice. The main reason we moved here is my son just built his forever home and it's about six miles from us. We've gone to their church and we have a church service here. We have a minister and his wife that live here. There are activities every day. We have bingo twice a week and we have an activity room on the second floor that's large enough to get the entire building in it. We have movies and one lady is occupying a corner because she's got a three-thousand-piece puzzle she's putting together. We've got a poker group that plays poker every Tuesday night. We had a marine group come here on Memorial Day and do a ceremony for us. They spoke to the group and they also did a flag folding ceremony. We have a two-bedroom apartment. My wife is on a walker and all the doctor's offices that we are going to are very close by. If you don't have a car, they have a bus that will take you on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday to doctor's appointments. This Wednesday, the men are going out to lunch together. We're gonna take the bus away from the ladies. I'm very happy here and I plan to stay here until the end. I'd give them the top rating in all respects. The staff is wonderful. The food is outstanding. It's not cheap, but it's not super expensive. We had looked at one close to our home and it would have cost us almost $2000 a month more and you weren't getting anything anymore that I see. It is very comfortable. You've got control of your heating and air-conditioning in your own apartment. We opted for an apartment with a washer and dryer built-in. There's a room at the end of the hallway and it's got three almost brand new GE front loaders washers and front loader dryers. We also have two storage rooms on our floor that you can put anything that you don't want to keep in your apartment. You just provide your own padlock. We have two bedrooms, two baths, a living room and a full kitchen. It's very convenient and we're on the third floor, so we have a balcony. My wife has a lot of her plants out there. It's a nice place to sit and get fresh air and the morning sun comes right across it. We also have a facility for her to do morning exercises and we have a therapist here and we also have a therapist that our doctor has recommended that comes in and do more strenuous or doctor-directed activities, so she doesn't have to go out anywhere. They have activities and groups come in at least twice a week. We've had several orchestra bands that play music of our times as well as current music and residents get up and dance. I haven't heard any bad things since we've been here. There's a pull cord right next to where the head of the bed is in both bedrooms and in both of the bathrooms and we wear a necklace with a button on it while we're here and they encourage us to take it with us when we go off the site because it will register anywhere you may be. I am falling in love with this place. It's everything you need. I'm not having to cut grass or trim shrubbery. They come and clean every other Wednesday."

"I am living at Sycamore Ridge Gracious Retirement Living. It does not have a swimming pool, but it has everything that everybody offered. It's newer. I fell in love with the staff, even the people living here, and it was less expensive. It is a great place. I recommend it to anybody. They are in the process of planting flowers right now, but it's very well kept and extremely clean. They are all eager to please and do anything they can to help. The food is fantastic. I'm gonna be gaining weight. We get three meals a day. I am never just sitting in my room. After you eat, you do the activities, and my favorite is bingo. They've got crafts, floral design, art, a sewing club, a book club, and a walking club. I can't even name all of them. It's really good. You can have anything you want here. The activity director makes them great. She's really perky, and she does everything. I have no complaints."

"We had a nice tour at Heritage at Irene Wood, and it was really a nice place, but it was too far from us. The staff was very helpful. "

"I visited Germantown Plantation's assisted living last week. It was a big place. They had a movie theater, a chapel, a swimming pool, and a hot tub. They also had a physical-therapy room and a hair salon. The staff was very polite and knowledgeable, and they answered all of my questions. I also saw their interactions with the residents, and the residents really enjoyed it. In fact, when I was there, one of the gentlemen there didn't feel well, and the nurse was there very quickly. It's very roomy. Their area was quiet and their rooms were bigger. There's so much interaction between the residents and the staff, which I like to see. The place sits back away from the road and it was very quiet. Even when I was inside, I couldn't hear anything from the outside."

"My mom moved to Royal Retreat. It was small. The staff was very professional and caring, and it fit exactly the needs that we needed for my mother. I did go for lunch and the food was good. It was on Friday and they had fish Friday, and it was very nice. They have activity twice a day and they have entertainment music piped in. So, the entertainment and the interaction with the residents have been the main plus of it. It's very worth it. It's timely and affordable, and it meets all the needs. The cost of it is appropriate."

"I visited The Summit of Germantown. It was a wonderful experience. The place was beautiful. We loved all the amenities. The staff was very nice, and she answered all our questions. The one we looked at was a one-bedroom, and it was nice. It would have been adequate for my mother's needs. They showed us the gym, the swimming pool, where they have exercise with an instructor, the cafeteria, some of the rooms where they play games, the library, and things of that nature."
