"I would have already chosen Merritt Station II Senior Apartments, but they said I make $2,000 too much to be there. Everything about the tour was great and the place was beautiful. They're immaculate because they're brand new. It's like being in a high-end hotel. My only problem is how they come up with their decision on the cut-off amount for income. It's ridiculous, in reality, unless some people aren't up and up about it. I'm being upfront and 100% honest about how much I make but they said I'm $2,000 a year too much. I wonder how much that is broken down weekly or maybe I have to retire in order to get a place there. I also think they shouldn't go by gross income because one still has to pay taxes and insurance. I pay $600-$700 in benefits so that knocks my paycheck down. The actual check I get would have qualified after that but because they do it after taxes then I don't qualify. Another thing that I don't understand is that, while I was taking the tour of the place, I saw people with vehicles going in and out of there and I wondered how they maintain a car properly while doing it right with insurance. I guess what I'm saying is that I don't know how they came up with these figures. The room I wanted was a 1-bedroom, I did not want anything elaborate. They have bingo and things like that which attracted me to the place. I realize they have a cut off but to me, each situation should be evaluated a little bit further. Other than that, based on the building, the set-up, and the apartments, they are great. The staff was also great."

"I toured The Waterfalls of Catonsville. It was a very good experience. The facility is beautiful. The staff who walked me through were extremely knowledgeable and welcoming. It's a historic home that has been converted. The rooms are individual with common bathrooms, and then some shared living spaces. I would give it a very high rating for someone who needs a very structured memory care facility. It's a convenient location."

"The staff at Alta are absolutely wonderful. Tai, Alexis, Don and everyone there is extremely helpful to answer all our questions and maintaining the apartment. The residents are also a delight. The facility is nearby to so many accessible areas, it's a perfect location! "

My dad came to this facility from another facility. Since he’s been here he has been receiving amazing care including nutritious meals. I appreciate the staff going far and beyond for him, always. They make sure he is clean and happy. Last but not least, I appreciate the medical specialists (home health, Nurse Practitioners, etc) that they work with who provide additional services he needs. "My family member has been here for >2.5 years. The nurses do an excellent job of communicating important details that I need to be aware of. The wholesome, vegetarian meals are served family style so the residents all get to sit together. The beautiful country setting with large porches to sit outside are also welcome especially with the visiting restrictions from our pandemic. But I’m super happy that they’ve kept everyone safe. The rooms are nice size and with private toilets. Prior to the pandemic, there were many activities and visiting opportunities and I’d often stay and participate."

"Access Care was an answer to my prayer. I am so thankful for this assistive living facility. Loretta, the owner of the home, and Rose, who works in the home, give nothing short of excellent service all around. The staff truly cares about the residents. My mother, who is 97, moved into this home March, 2020, the beginning of COVID 19. They were successful with keeping everyone free of the virus. Questions and request are answered and addressed quickly and the environment is clean and safe. The lines of communication are always open. I would absolutely recommend this facility."

"The thing I like about Wilshire Estates Gracious Retirement Living is that they seem to have a lot of activities. They have three meals a day, so they have a refrigerator. I don't think they have an oven or a stove top because you're not supposed to be cooking, and you're supposed to go down to the dining room. The staff who gave the tour was very good. The building is pretty new. They can sign up for a shuttle bus to go to the local pool, for example."

"Cadence Living Olney was very nice and very clean. It was decorated nicely. I felt like they were very buttoned up, which is what you want to make sure you have for your loved ones. They gave a great tour. They had a hairdresser and I saw an outdoor garden area. They seemed to have a good ratio of staff to residents. There were plenty of activities and they had the staff to support it. The rooms looked pretty nice. The showers did not have a lift, it was straight. If someone needs to roll in, they could just roll straight in."
