My husband has been in Florence Hand Home for over three weeks now. It's very highly recommended by people who have been there, and it's only four miles from my house. It's immaculately clean. The service is wonderful. The people there are so loving and caring. They got a good Southern cook. The food is great. The first day we went there, I was putting my husband back in the truck, and a lady came out and she said, "Oh, is he gonna come here? My mom's been here, my aunt's been there, my sister's here now, you're gonna love this place." How many recommendations like that do you get from a nursing home? He gets physical therapy and speech therapy. It's a fantastic place. My girlfriend has known six people who have been there, and they came back with rave reviews. It's really good. They're the most loving, caring, sweetest people. My husband fell out of bed, and every time he falls out of bed, they have to call and tell me, and the first time he did, the nurse called me, and her last sentence to me was, "Thank you for letting me take care of him." He's in a wonderful place. He's very happy being there. There are activities. There are lots of things going on if he chooses to take part in them. I can't say enough good things about the place. I haven't met a bad person yet. If I go in there at noon, they will serve me lunch along with him, and we have lunch together, or sometimes we have dinner together. The food is always good. I ask him what he has for breakfast, and he tells me, "I've had scrambled eggs and sausage for breakfast this morning. They've got some good food here." The floor in the hallways is shiny and smooth. It's like they've waxed it. It's not slippery or anything, but it's polished. There isn't a speck of dust or cobweb or anything anywhere. It's always really clean. I was there one day with my husband for about two hours, and two different ladies came in and cleaned his room at two different times. They were even dusting off the top of the door. I walked in one day and they were having root beer floats right there in the lobby. They have bingo, singing, music, and crafts. There's a whole room full of people doing whatever it is they're doing in there. They have a lot of activities that are very well attended. They help him dress if he needs it, shower him, and give him sponge baths. It's a wonderful place to be. It is the cleanest, well-cared-for, politest facility that I've ever seen. I go every day, all hours of the day, and it's always the same.
