We looked at Jackson Oaks Senior Living. I like the staff, the cleanliness, the different activities, and the things that were available for residents and trying to give them some independence as well. We found a room that was going to be ideal just because of the location and size of it, but they had several different options for some rooms. The person that we met with was amazing and gave us so much information. She was very reassuring and she has given us other options like if this wasn't a good fit in telling us just based on her experience, so I appreciated that. While my mother-in-law was in the mental health facility, they even sent someone there to go and observe her there. So just the thoroughness of it was pretty impressive. We weren't there during mealtime, but we saw their menu displayed. They have a little open area where residents can come throughout the day. There were some drinks and some snacks there for them, so we got to see all that. There was a little garden area outside. In the room that we were looking at, my mother-in-law could look out into the garden area. Just the grounds themselves, there's a nice big shaded area with rocking chairs where people can sit and visit there as well

They were very friendly. I was impressed because they gave personal testimonies to the patients. It helped me understand that they knew their patients. They were not trying to tell me how great they were and all the great things that they did. It was more about the accomplishments of the patients and that just seemed to be more personal to me. The atmosphere was very good. They offered trips to go eat ice cream and things like that. They were having bingo on the day that we visited. They had little crafts things that they did. They had a screened-in back porch that I liked because my mom enjoys watching the birds and things like that, so that was the thing that I was impressed with. Everything was clean and safe. They're locked in, and you have to have a key code to get out, so my mom couldn't wander.

My mom moved here. Everything went well and the walk-through was good. It was clean, there were no smells, everybody was nice and polite, and they were engaging with the residents. The place just felt welcoming. So far, so good. They have three different kinds of rooms, and she's in a private room that used to be a studio for one person, but there's another room where they could put another resident, but for now she's in there by herself. So the only thing the two rooms share is the bathroom, but the rooms are separated by the doors. They let them choose their own menu for every meal, and they have many activities, whether it be listening to music, playing games, watching TV together, movies, and also they do arts and crafts and different things like that. They have a beautician that comes in once a week, and they'd be in a room downstairs to get haircuts, and there's also a podiatrist that does their nails once a week. The food smells wonderful, but I hadn't been there when she was eating, but their menu looks great.

Everyone was extremely friendly here. The rooms were nice and I loved the little garden center. Everyone seemed happy there. The staff who accommodated me during the tour was wonderful. The facility is very clean.

My mom moved here and we are happy with it. It is closer to where my residence is, and it is more family oriented. I love the staff; they keep me updated. They just got recognized best in the county for assisted living last week. She likes the food. The place is clean and everything we've seen is clean, and it is very easy for her to move around in a wheelchair. They have three different activities per day. I have not seen the activities because we are not allowed in.
