"We went on a weekend at Branan Lodge. It wasn't really a good time to visit because they're low in staff. I was given a brief tour and they showed me one apartment that was empty. It was nice and roomy. It had sliding glass doors to a patio, which was one of the things I definitely like. It also looked like they had activities, but there wasn't a lot of detail about it. But the place looked nice and I did like it. "

"My brother who recently passed away, was a resident at the Lazy R home in Blairsville, GA, for about 2 months. While this is an older facility, I can't say enough about the quality of care he received there. The people were loving, kind, and genuinely cared for him. He was always clean, neat, and it was obvious the care-givers there regarded him as more than just someone sent there to die. The room and hallways were kept spotless. This is not a brand new building, and the lighting is a little dim, but by the same token the cost on a monthly basis is less than half of what the family would have paid for a nursing home in one of the larger Atlanta facilities. And the level of service and care was double what we experienced earlier when my mother did pass away after a long stay in a "top,notch" Atlanta nursing home. So we give the Lazy-R and its staff very high marks. "

"I think that this place was beautiful and it had so many rooms. The people in charge really knew what they were doing and they helped with whatever they could. The owners lived on the property and worked there. Meals were greatly prepared on time each day. the dietary needs of each and every resident were taken into effect. I do not think that there was anything that was missed. i would be proud to send a person in my family to this facility. It was also probably the cleanest facility that I have ever seen. I think that this is why there were so many residents from all over. The only thing that I did not like was how small the town was. there is no hospital in that town. "

"This retirement home was located in my home town so it was an obvious choice to send my grandmother to after she developed demetia. It is a beautiful part of town set aside to be fairly private. The accomadations are beacutiful. The front desk staff were very friendly when ever I visited and were always extremely helpful whenever needed. The staff of nurses were also always courteous and helpful as stated by my grandmother and also noted while we were visiting. The decorations of the facility and also in the individual rooms were very exquisite and looked wonderful. The dining area was very neat and orderly and looked to be very clean and sanitary. I did not personally taste the food but also never heard any complaints about it either, which in my opinion would be considered good. Overall I was very satisfied with this area and was happy, for the price, that we put my grandmother their. "

"While the staff was very friendly and well-known within our community, we found that there were extra fees that were not mentioned in the brochure or by the orientation. Aside from the extras fees now and again for "field trips" and such, we were very pleased with the overall care that my grandmother received. While there were not very many amenities in any of the nursing homes in Dahlonega, this one did have a garden type area with places to sit and swing or eat. The closeness of the rooms and the lack of peace was a bit concerning, but I was told that normally it doesn't stay loud or hectic for very long. The main thing that my grandmother complained about was the lack of privacy, she said she couldn't have a quiet moment to herself if she tried because there was always someone (staff or another resident) who would be walking into her room. She did, however, enjoy the food quite a bit. She said that they gave her a variety of food and it didn't taste like prison food, which was what she had expected. Overall, Evergreen Terrace is a fine place to have an elder relative stay, just watch out for the excess fees and be aware that privacy is not a top priority. "

"My mother will be moving back to PruittHealth Jasper. They have skilled nursing, rehab, and long-term care. It's a small facility. My experience with them has been good. I like their responsiveness to my mother's needs, and they seem to be very careful about any transmission of the virus. They test everyone every week, that's what they do. They're very attentive. I hadn't been inside since it's under lockdown, but I have spoken with two people on the phone that are nurses and they seemed to be very caring and competent. I really don't know enough to rate them because my mother was only there a short time before she had to be transferred to another facility. Also, I haven't been able to go inside. I'm generally pleased with what they have done. My mother said the food was good. She didn't rave about it, but it was OK."

"My mother moved to The Retreat at Jasper memory care. My overall experience has been that they've been very receptive. They've been very nice, anything that I didn't think fit my mom, they were able to accommodate. Everybody seems to be very professional, and things get done quickly. My mom's not eating but they're making exceptions. I told them what she liked, and they made her a baked potato, which she loves, and she only had three bites. I was right there trying to help her, and they're being very patient. The staff is polite, they seemed very nice to my mom and the other residents there. Her room is very nice. It didn't come furnished, but they had some leftover stuff that people left behind, they let me look and pick things out like if I needed a bureau or something. All in all, it's been a very easy experience for a very difficult decision I had to make. At this point, it's well worth what we're paying. For memory care, it appears to be more limited activities. My mom likes to go for naps after she eats, but they don't allow it all the time, she needs to mingle. She used to sleep a lot more at home, but they are getting her up and they don't allow her to sleep all the time. They came and picked my mother up at my house, and brought her to the facility."

"My mother in Law was in this facility and they gave her good care. They were very friendly. The rooms are small but they offered activities for her to do so she was not in her room alot. "

"My husband was in the memory care unit of Hayesville House, the last three months of his life, and I put in the paper how wonderful they were to him. That is a wonderful facility for people with memory problems. It's excellent in every way. Some people had been there for a long time. It's for memory care, but once you get to where you are bedridden, they keep you all through the last stages of your life. They keep you even when you get to a point of being in a nursing home. Once you're in there, they don't send you out to go to a nursing home when you get to that point. Even hospice can come in the last stages of one's life. What I liked best about them is their care for the patients. Not only for my husband, but I would also see the way they treated other people. When my husband passed in January, I didn't have his memorial until April, but the manager of the facility and her assistant all came to my house for the memorial. The food was good, the care was good, and there was never a smell in there. My husband's room was kept clean all the time, and they kept him clean, too. They have a beauty and barber shop. During Halloween, they let people dress up. I also went down and had Thanksgiving dinner with them, and it was really good. They take care of the people. It was not just my husband, but everyone in there got that kind of care. We were private-pay, but a lot of people were on Medicaid, and they accepted them, too."
