While searching for a place for my friend's mother to live, we visited the Renaissance Gardens assisted living facility. The area is convenient to friends and family in the area, so visiting would be easy. We really liked the well-kept park setting because the outdoors has always been a big part of my friend's mother's life. She is very sociable and the types of cultural outings and events offered suit her well. A variety of fresh, healthy foods are offered and suit all dietary needs. Snacks are available all day every day. The rooms are all nicely sized and decorated. The staff and management are very accommodating and eager to make the residents and visiting families comfortable. Those who were not ambulatory seemed well-cared for. We liked the exercise room where they had yoga mats and machines. They also have scheduled classes for those who are interested. The facility encourages family members to visit regularly and participate in some of the annual activities, such as barbeques and holiday parties. The food looked well prepared and appetizing and the dining room was beautiful. This is a very cozy environment meant to give the residents a sense of home, with kind and caring staff.
