After my mom had 4 surgeries in 9 days and spent 16 days in the hospital, she needed rehabilitation including wound care. I was grateful The Moorings accepted the challenge! The staff worked tirelessly to ensure all her needs were met and spoiled her with chocolate ice cream. Every staff member was kind and gentle as she was in a lot of pain. They used advanced technology and equipment to help her recover. The staff cared for us with hugs and tears as visits became increasingly tough. Although my mom's body was tired and she went to her heavenly home, I know she had the best care possible during her last 6 weeks on earth. You exceeded our expectations and made a difference in all of our lives. We are forever grateful for the excellent care of my mother! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!!

EXCELLENT! A move like this is obviously a huge decision, for the incoming resident and for their family. I cannot express enough what a gift the Moorings retirement community has been to our entire family. My mother's move from her residence of over 50 years into a beautiful Delaware Corner model apartment was seamless. Communication along the way was so good, the intake process was very personal and detailed, and the community itself has far exceeded my expectations. Every single employee we have interacted with - those in administrative roles, activities coordinators, food service, maintenance, housekeepers - top notch. Very much a family feel and I have been REPEATEDLY touched by the various ways my mom has been cared for here. Hard to find this kind of quality care, compassion, and "family feel" these days, but HERE, it still exists. The peace of mind that has come from knowing my mom is, not only safe here, but genuinely loved here.... that is something you just cannot put a price tag on. I highly recommend The Moorings to anyone considering a move of this nature. As a family, we are so truly thankful that we did.

The Moorings at Lewes is very upscale and relatively new. It's bigger and newer, and it's in a very expensive area, and so is their monthly price. They had both semi-private and private rooms, and I prefer private for my wife. I was impressed with it. The staff during the tour was very nice. They accommodated me. I was a walk-in. Their care seemed to be excellent. They have a lot of people working there. The staff during the tour was very knowledgeable and very accommodating. They were very good. The rooms were very nice and had excellent upkeep. The place was spotless. The dining area was nice. It looked like a hotel. They had a full range of amenities, activities, rehabilitation, and everything. It's the best facility I looked at. The problem is it's like $2000 more expensive than everybody else.

We went to look at The Moorings at Lewes. There's an awful lot of walking involved. The amenities were very nice. The staff was very nice. We saw a two-bedroom. The layout was nice.
