"I liked that St. George Village had a lake and a lot of places to walk. They had raised bed gardens for the residents to use. The kitchens were large. They had a restaurant where you could sit outside when the weather was nice, but it was covered. They also had a schedule of activities which sounded good and a Jacuzzi, which I liked. They had art classes and little day trips. The staff was very nice."

"Canterbury Court was superior. They are expanding their building right now. Everyone was super nice. We visited everything there and my wife was impressed with the furnishing, the program, and the whole shebang. That's the only one in Atlanta that she's thoroughly impressed with. I loved it. They have trips to every symphony and art (I'm an artist). The staff was thoroughly professional and responsible. We did not doubt that we would be well taken care of there. They have all kinds of activities and stuff that I'd be interested in. It was awesome. They had the whole wing and it was very beautiful. The food was delicious. Everything there was first class."

"We moved into Lenbrook. My least favorite thing is having to go up and down the elevator rather than just walk out the door like I did at my house. Other than that, everything else is fine. I have no complaints. They have fabulous workout centers, indoor swimming, croquet, a patio, lounging areas, and outdoor eating when the weather's right. It's just a nice place. The staff members are excellent. They provide the food, and it's been good. Half of the menu is the same every time, and half of it changes every time. The variety is a little bit weak, but I wouldn't downgrade it because of that. There are plenty of things to keep you occupied. They have lectures and movies. It's a great place for animals. We got our dog, and they have Dog Day on Sunday afternoons. It's expensive."

"My mother moved into The Arbor at BridgeMill. It is very nice. It looks like an apartment complex. Inside, there are a lot of amenities for her to enjoy. Something is going on every day. I mean, she's busy all day, and that's what we wanted. She's playing cards, she went to a costume party, they played music and she was dancing. It's just like living in a small apartment, basically, and that's what we like about it. Mom's pre-diabetic, so they honor that in her diet. They give her a selection, like a menu, so it's not just a set meal that everybody's eating. She could have fish today and everybody else might have chicken or something else. I've only eaten there one time, and it was good. Everybody is very friendly, and the staff there looks like they enjoy their jobs and they're happy to be there. They've been very helpful with my mom. They just have the demeanor to be friendly and kind to the residents. They seem to know them by name in just a short time, and they are respectful. Mom's apartment is very nice and very clean. It's got upgraded cabinetry, a big walk-in closet, and a stacked washer and dryer in the facility. So, she didn't have to go down to the laundry room. It's a compact little apartment just for her, and it's perfect. I would recommend them to anybody looking for a place."

"I wasn't sure what to think about this place. I live down the street from this business and never knew it was there! The building looks a little bit older styled but it's very clean! It's also half a Senior Residence and a hotel!! The staff is very friendly and the people that live there seem very happy. The only negative thing I will say is that I could not move in there! I toured the apartment style rooms and the accomodations were very reasonable. There was a bed, tv and dresser amongst other things. There's a fridge and kitchenette (I wish there was an actual stovetop though :( ), and all utilities included with the rent. Not a bad deal. I will consider this place in the future for a relative."

"The Holbrook Decatur was state-of-the-art, brand new, and beautifully done. It wasn't occupied at the time, but the facility was outstanding. The accommodations were beautifully decorated and had a homey feel. They had activities, a pool, and anything you could possibly want. The dining room was beautifully decorated and clean."

"The Mansions at Sandy Springs Senior Independent Living was nice. We would have gone there. All the amenities that we visited were about the same. But the place that we chose was brighter. The staff was very, very nice. This place serves three meals a day."

"I went to visit Clairmont Oaks. They go by income but there's a two-year waiting list. They've got nice apartments, they have a kitchen which is a little bit bigger than where I live in. It's a nice building and it's clean. Because of the cold, a lot of stuff was taken out and I haven't been back since they started putting stuff back in. But it's a large building, and they have a lot of activity rooms where they play cards, play bingo, that type of thing. And they have an exercise room, a TV room, it's a nice elevated building with 12 floors. They have laundry on each floor, which is convenient and I like that. The idea of the apartment itself for me was too small, but for somebody else, it probably is perfect. The bedroom is a nice size, the walk-in closet is real nice, and that's what I need. The whole closet is a nice size and they have a regular-sized bathroom. The staff that I met there were nice, they were informative and they explained things to me. I spoke to only one lady and she was nice, she explained stuff, and she let me walk around the apartment to see it, and she showed us the laundry room. A lot of people that lived in the building that I live in now moved around there. They've got Picadilly delivering food so I didn't get to eat there. The nearest landmark would be McDonald's that's right next to the corner of Clairmont street."

"I toured The Mansions at Decatur Senior Independent Living. Everything was pleasantly clean. The room had a balcony, which I liked. The few people that I saw seemed to be nice. I just couldn't afford it. The staff who gave the tour was very informative. She contacted me even after the tour. I saw the dining area. It's nothing extravagant, but it's nice. I didn't observe any activities though."

"I toured the Phoenix at Union Hill. It's very nice, and they were very good. I enjoyed the tour. They have good food. They're all women, and there weren't enough men there. They've got a lot of amenities. They have a pool. They've got everything: independent living, memory care, and assisted living. It's a beautiful place. It's bigger and has more people, and their staff was excellent."

"I stayed at Park Springs - A Life Plan Community. The physical facility is nice. They do a good job; they keep it up. The landscaping is very good. The housing is excellent. The staff is very friendly and very nice. There are five different dining areas, so you have a wide choice, and they change the selection in the restaurants every week. The food is well prepared, so it's very nice. They have a lot of activities. They have an exercise building with a big pool, a smaller therapy pool, a hot tub, and an exercise area with exercise machines. I would give it a high rating, but it is a retirement community, and they are catering to a certain demographic. It's also expensive, but people are very satisfied."

"Cumming Nursing and Rehab is an exceptional place and that is due to its highly trained and skilled staff. I am a physician and have worked with nurses for the past 25 years. I was really impressed with everyone here. My father was transferred from another rehab in Florida and admitted to the rehab here and the care he received saved his life a couple of times. The nurses are very experienced and pay strong attention to details. Emma was one of the nurses who saved my dad's life when his blood sugar dropped too low. She also saw that his left leg was swollen and a doppler study was done in house that showed a blood clot in his leg. Emma is an exceptional and caring nurse. Omegus, one of the nursing assistants, saved my dad's life on another occasion when his oxygen malfunctioned. Wanda, the activities director, was just wonderful. Denise Brock, a highly skilled nurse, accepted my father into this outstanding facility and I will forever be grateful for her professionalism and follow-up. The entire experience from beginning to end was excellent and I recommend them very highly."
