"The staff at Celebration Village was excellent. I liked that the dining room, the eating areas, the fitness room, the arts and crafts room, and the theater were all located on the main floor. On that main floor, there were different sitting areas where you could sit and read, meet with your friends, or just watch people. It just felt comfortable there. They have different size rooms. The smallest one was a studio and it was very small. You would have to be pretty nifty with storage, but it would be manageable for one person. The two bedrooms were lovely. Some have better views than others. I was looking at one room that overlooked the rooftop, so that wasn't very lovely at all, but it had lovely woods at the back and beautiful landscaping. The only downside in this place was that most of the apartments were separate from the main building. So, you would need to go outside if you'd go to the dining room. It's not very far, but you would have to walk across a driveway and a little walkway. If the weather was bad, it would be a little bit uncomfortable to walk. Also, I had eaten their vegetable soup and it was a little bit salty to me. Other than that, the place was lovely. The person who was giving the tour was very accommodating. She answered all the questions and was not in a hurry. I picked up an activities list for the month and there was stuff going on all the time. There's a couple of movies every day, a walking club, an outside pool, a nice fitness room, a salon, an arts and crafts class, tables that had a jigsaw puzzles set out, some trips/little getaways planned, and a bus that will take you as far as 11 miles to your doctor's appointment."

"Right now, my mother is in rehab at Presbyterian 'cause she broke her hip. So, it's sort of another type of nursing home. She's living there, and she's doing the rehabilitation. She may be there another month; I'm not sure. But when I kinda get an indication from them, how her rehab is doing, 'cause it's kinda had to start in stages, then I'll know when she'll be actually moving out of there. She's been there since the end of October. It's a good facility. I was not able to actually see where she would be staying, because she went from the emergency room to a hospital bed, and once she was finished with her surgery, she's gotta had to pick a rehab place. They gave me some choices and I did a little bit of research, but I basically just picked one and that's where she is now. Her care is definitely a 5; she's got a whole team, nutritionist, occupational therapist; she's got more than one therapist, she's got somebody dealing with a wound on her foot, and she gets a doctor visit frequently. It looks like a housing community, but different set up. There are housings, kinda like condos, and then there's like one main type building. I guess it's where some of the patients live. It's not like one big building like most of the places are. It's a housing community along with a rehab facility. I think she's been well-taken cared of. I don't particularly know about the food. I know she's eating 'cause, they told me she's eating, but I don't know how good the food is. Right now, Medicare is paying for her stay and her care. I actually looked in to what it would cost to keep her there, but they were very expensive. Instead of like a monthly rent, they had like a daily rent, which was very expensive. We're talking like $8000 something like that. So, it was just really way out of my league. I know she's getting great care. I chose that facility based on their location, and the fact that it was one of them that the hospital recommended. It was one of their recommended lists. At a certain point when you're in a hospital, they wanna get you out, so you gotta make a decision. So I had to make a decision to get her into a rehab facility, and I had to make a choice, So it wasn't like a detailed research. I didn't do any tours, I just basically googled a couple of other places, and I made a decision that I had to. "

"We visited the Merrill Gardens at Woodstock. It was nice and we liked it. We went there for lunch and everybody that we met said that it is nice there. I did not meet anybody that lives there that was not happy there. They all liked what they had. The staff was very nice and professional. The dining area seemed nice. They were having a fourth of July barbecue and I had a couple of hamburgers, but they were cooking outside so it was not a normal situation. My wife and I both liked the place. I liked the location and that was one of the pluses for me because it was closer to my daughter. It is close to restaurants, too."

"We've been living in St. George Village for a number of years now. I like the people here. I like the beautiful grounds. We have a very active recreational program, and a lot of exercise classes. We have a beauty salon, an indoor pool, and a fitness center. Some of the staff are good, but some are not. The food here is good. It's a beautiful facility. The dining area is a little antiquated, but very adequate."

"Canterbury Court is lovely. It's a little larger than where we are now and a little more expensive. They have a full schedule of programs and activities. The dining room looked like a really nice restaurant. "

"We moved into Lenbrook. My least favorite thing is having to go up and down the elevator rather than just walk out the door like I did at my house. Other than that, everything else is fine. I have no complaints. They have fabulous workout centers, indoor swimming, croquet, a patio, lounging areas, and outdoor eating when the weather's right. It's just a nice place. The staff members are excellent. They provide the food, and it's been good. Half of the menu is the same every time, and half of it changes every time. The variety is a little bit weak, but I wouldn't downgrade it because of that. There are plenty of things to keep you occupied. They have lectures and movies. It's a great place for animals. We got our dog, and they have Dog Day on Sunday afternoons. It's expensive."
