I visited someone who lives at the St. Joseph’s Residence in Enfield. It's under the Little Sisters of the Poor. What I like best about it is that they seem like they're taking care of their people really well. The place is immaculate, and they have a chapel there, which is nice if somebody needs it. The only thing is that the bedrooms are very small, because originally, it was supposed to be a hospital years ago. It's a very old building, and so the bedrooms are small. Other than that, the place is fantastic. They have a lot of areas where you can entertain your guests. On one floor, they have a beautiful electric fireplace, and it's really gorgeous and so clean. The person that I went to visit said that they clean every single day, and you'll never find anything dirty anywhere. It's run by some sisters, and I met some of them. I think one of them even works in the kitchen. The people there were very friendly. I think it's a good place because it's not just assisted living. They have four floors, and the fourth floor is for people who are in assisted living. As you go down the floors, it's for the people who need more help. I saw some people playing bingo, and they have another room where they have arts and crafts, where you can buy parts and make things. There were several things on the doors that people made themselves out of arts and crafts, and they were beautiful. The hallways are white, everything's painted white on the outside, but the bedrooms are dark wood from years ago. I don't know why they never painted them over in white, but maybe to save money. The part of the room where you put your clothing is very minimal, but everything else is really nice. The person I went to visit said the meals are fantastic. They get three meals a day, and the food is really good.
