I was a patient at Blair in November 2016, it was an unexpected stay, I had no time to research, and I was there for hip therapy. I shared a room with one other young lady and we were sort of separated from long term care residents.. I received the best of care, I was so well taking care of. My daily aid was a joy, we laughed all the time., she got me out of bed and relearning to care for myself again. My morning therapy session was intense and my afternoon more useful in gaining strength and use of hip. I looked forward to daily dining with the other long term residents, most in wheel chairs and/or dealing with alzheimers, or other age related conditions. They are of course, a strong lot, dealing with serious conditions bravely. I loved the food, it was so well prepared , with a daily choice of meals, and always soup. The best. I would go there today to eat. The facility is old, dated, but well maintained and clean. The residents who could, were in the corridor traveling in their wheel chairs to participate in daily activities, or meeting in groups to chat. Those who were 100 years old, and there were several, sat where everyone passed by so they could talk with them if they wanted to or could. They dressed up daily. No hanging around in bed clothing unless you were bed bound.. I was impressed with the level of care they provided even when you knew the funds were tight.. I understood that. If in the future I come to need a place to spend my latter years, I think I would look for a private room and a pool, so I don't think they could supply my wants at this time. But you never know what the future will bring. I hope they are not closed, they serve a need in our community, better to fix the medicaid requirement than to take something greatly needed away from the elderly. I hope the community comes together to fix this. You should visit to see how you can help. Try to grab a meal there. Volunteer

I am a current resident the CNA's who take care of you are real bad, they show no feelings toward you. You ring the call bell and it takes 1/2 hr. before someone answer's it. The food is terrible every other week your eating the same thing for the week over again. I don't know how it received a five star rating. I would never come here again and recommend to people not to come here if you care about the person you want to put in here...

I went to visit my mother-in-law here and was disgusted frankly. Very shabby. Not up to date. Cramped. And the smell? Oh, so bad. I hope my family doesn't put me there!!

The staff was very pleasant but the grounds were dumpy. There were 3 people to a room and it was very cramped. The food was absolutely putrid and the place is a bit run down and dirty. Medical attention wasn't the best as my mother contraction pneumonia and it took her to the point of death before a hospital was notified to treat her. All in all I would definitely not recommend them to anybody. Stricter requirements should b put into place requiring facilities to be updated, the staff regulary evaluated, and the dietary services should also b reviewed. My mother was in there to receive physical therapy, and was only given about 30 minutes a day with the Dr. for excersize. The rest of the time she laid in bed and deteriorated. If I could do it all over again, I would have put a lot more research into where we were placing her for rehab. Unfortunately we all thought that it was to be a VERY temporary situation and she would be back on her own two feet.
