He shares a room with someone in memory care and he's well taken care of. The staff is great and he enjoys their presence. He's very happy with them. They do games including memory games and bingo, exercise, and music therapy. They also go on field trips."

"I am living at Westmont at San Miguel Ranch. It's new, and the food is very good. The apartments are large, and it's just a very nice place all in all. There's something going on every day. "

"I went to see Monte Vista Village out in Lemon Grove. I toured their independent living because that's what I was looking for. It's really good, pretty open, with good places to walk and everything. They have quite a few activities too. They have a nice dinner facility because they serve meals. They also have a swimming pool, and I think they're getting a gym together. They also do aerobics and stuff like that with the seniors. The staff was good. They're knowledgeable and they help you out to get as much information as you need."

"We visited St Paul's Manor. I liked it a lot, and that's what we chose for mom. They have a nice variety of apartments from small studios to a large one-bedroom. They had the most fabulous views. We tried the food and it was good, the dining room was very nice, and there was a story telling activity when I was there. They had a calendar, and stuff to do every day. They had parking, laundry rooms, and a library."

"I liked the people at Grossmont Gardens. My mother moved in there. Everybody was really friendly and really helpful. The rooms were really nice. There is a lot of light and trees around there. It was just a really beautiful setting for my mom. There are people in and out, helping her all the time. Before she went in there she was very depressed, and now she is just so happy. Every time I walk in the room she has a smile on her face, and we sit there and talk about the people who are helping her, and she is so excited. She loves the food. I had one meal there with her, and it was very good. The dining room is very pleasant; it has a lot of outside light, so the rooms are well lit and have nice views. It's only fifteen minutes from me. It's close to everything; the hospital's right there. There's all kinds of shopping right by her. It's all within a fifteen-minute drive."

"I visited Right Choice Senior Living, and then I also spoke to the owner on the phone. The owner, for some reason, didn't know that I was going to be there, so he wasn't there. One of the caregivers assisted me. The tour was good. I liked it. Edgar was the caregiver, and he seemed to be very attentive to each resident. Each resident wasn't tied to a strict schedule. The residents could go outdoors if they wanted, but no gym or library that I was shown."

"We have chosen Gold Canyon Care Home for my friend and we're going in the direction of moving her. She needs assistance in walking, and personal needs, and she is a fall risk. In the sheet they gave us, they have outlined what their care levels are and then priced them out accordingly. She is at their third level of assisted living and there are four levels in that facility. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend anyone going there. It's an open floor plan and they do family-style dinners there. There is a family that lives there. Another building is right adjacent to the actual facility and their caregivers live in that building so there is someone in the facility 24 hours a day. The family that was there, it was during the Easter break when we visited, and their son was there. Arman, his wife, and another caregiver were there too so it was just very family-oriented. We got a chance to view the rooms and they are more than adequate. It has a lovely outside deck that looks down into the canyon, and that's where they got their name Gold Canyon. They grow their own vegetables organically, so they have that going on as well. For being a care facility, it was just very nicely set up. We did not get to try their food but we were shown a refrigerator filled with food. As I said, it is a family-dining style. Arman likes to barbecue so there is barbecuing that is going on when it's nice outside. I think the delightful part of it was that it is a family situation. I just feel with my heart that they treat their guests like family. We asked about the activities and they have a large screen TV. My friend likes to watch movies so that was something that we knew she would be interested in. Also, we are putting into place having a physical therapist come in for her. They have physical therapy equipment there and they encourage that to be put to use. They said they were working with the residents too, like making Easter eggs and doing different crafty things. Having placed other people in other facilities and being aware of what's available, I think this is going to be a perfect choice for my friend just because she doesn't need skilled nursing care."

"My grandmother lives at Lantern Crest and only ever has good things to say. She is always busy doing activities and speaks highly of the staff and residents who are always willing to spend time with her. There are so many things to do! There's a putting green, garden, pool, jacuzzi, bistro, movie theatre, dog park, and probably a lot more that I haven't even explored yet. They also have a lot of outings, where they take my grandma and anyone else who wants to go to a variety of places around town. Very cool! I've visited a few times now and I can't speak highly enough of the food, it's seriously incredible every time I try anything. The facility is beautiful (and new) and the staff are always welcoming and kind. The other residents have also been very nice and easy to talk to. Her apartment is very clean, spacious, and well-lit. It's perfect for her and even has a large balcony with a view of city. I love going to visit, especially when they host the larger family events. My grandma and I have always been very close, and I can honestly say that moving into Lantern Crest has been one of the best decisions she has ever made. I haven't heard her complain once about anything in her two years of living there."
