The Hong Fook Adult Day Health Centers are located in the heart of Oakland's Chinatown areas serving the Asian senior communities. They provide services to frail elderly with disabilities to regain their ability to live independently and provide respite to the love ones providing care. The diverse staff is very caring and professional, reflecting the community they serve. Majority of the staff members speak Cantonese, Mandarin, Korean, and Vietnamese as well as English. The centers services include: nursing care, assistance with medications, personal care (e.g. assistance with toileting and grooming), health education, and liaison with personal physician. Also, both centers offer a nutritionally-balanced hot ethnic meal and a nutritious snack every day. In addition, one of the biggest attraction is that the programs offer two sessions per day. This is very unique because most adult care health centers only provide one session during the mornings. The center provides transportation services to the center and back home to all their participants but families are highly encouraged to provide their own transportation.
