"Brookdale Sunwest is perfect for my mother. The thing that sold us on Brookdale was that she could garden, because they have little plots and wood boxes. The place was neat and clean, and they had very spacious rooms. We like the affordability too. They have a movie room, a library, and I saw a couple of people in the dining room area; it wasn't packed. We also visited another community, but Brookdale Sunwest really fits Mom like a glove. The staff member who helped us during the tour was very friendly. I liked the fact that they had assisted living, and across the courtyard where they can do gardening is the independent living. They drive you to your appointments, or if they go on outings."

"I can't say enough good things about Brightwater Senior Living of Highland. The staff is very caring, very positive, and concerned not only about my mother, but every person there. They call them by their names and they're attuned to their needs. The place is gorgeous and it's worth every penny. My mom is in a studio, which is affordable, adequate, very spacious, has a small kitchenette which includes a full-sized fridge, sink, and has plenty of cupboard space for any kind of snacks. There are lots of closet spaces and the bathroom is very generous in size. It also has a walk-in shower that accommodates her wheelchair. They have so many amenities and a full schedule of things that you can do or not do. They have a variety of activities inside as well as outside of the facility, which they provide transportation for. My mom doesn't particularly enjoy the food as much as I think she should. They have very nice variety of gourmet meals and she's just not used to that, but the food is plentiful and good. The facility is gorgeous. It's very expensive, costly and you get what you pay for, but not everybody can afford it."

"My mother resided here since 2020 until she recently died at the age of 100. Her care was excellent. Jerry, her caregiver when she died, was devoted to her needs. This residence is meticulously clean. The staff is caring and go above and beyond. If you drive by to inspect, don’t be put off by the exterior, the inside is nice and feels like home. "The rooms at The Camelot were very nice. We saw a couple of the apartments, everything was very nice, and everybody was very cordial as far as the people that were there. "

"My overall experience at Citrus Court is okay. The staff is very good. The room could be bigger but it's okay. Some days the food is good and some days it's not. The outside courtyard is clean. I picked this place because the staff is kind. We can't get out much because of this COVID thing."

"The staff is very good. They're kind to us and they are more than willing to help us with anything we need. I like the activities. They give us a table where we can do puzzles every day in the activity room. We also play bingo and poker. They also have a lot of barbecues and they even had a pageant during the summer. We go out once a month to eat and go to a sightseeing trip. Whatever they do, we're involved. The rooms are adequate and the food is very good. I'm very happy here. We also have a non-denominational meeting every Sunday for church. But I'd like to have a Catholic mass once a month, where priest would come in and say mass for us. That's what I like and my personal feeling."

"Emeritus at Loma Linda invited us for lunch, but mom didn’t care for that at all. When we went there, the facility is nice. We were able to see their apartment and it was nice. Also when we went there, they had a musical event going on and a lot of the residents were in their big lobby. The staff were very nice and very informative. She didn’t like the crowded dining room when we went there, but she enjoyed the music. I think the facility is for people who are up and about, but not for my mother who is sometimes confused. "

"We are going with Buena Vista Assisted Living. My mother-in-law hasn't moved in yet, but it's more intimate because it's a little bit smaller of a facility. It seems very much like more of a home. Everyone that I met that worked there was very nice and friendly, and everyone seemed very helpful. The rooms were sort of like a studio. It's like a bedroom- living room kind of all in one, and then the bathroom. Each one has its own, so there's no shared rooms. Every time I've been in there, everything seems really nice. The dining area seems very nice. It's like a large home kitchen kind of dining area, where everybody comes together and sits. They have a little beauty salon. They have classes, but I don't know much about them yet."

"The amenities at Pico De Loro that could be used were like you would find at the library; they didn't really have much. I didn't see any activities going on. They just said that they would get them together for game nights and watching TV, and that was about it. The staff was good; they were helpful and very cordial. I mainly dealt with the facility director, and she was really nice. The facility itself seems kind of old and worn down overall. They could improve on the outside. They had sort of a second area in the back where they put their junk. It was gated off, but there were residents walking around. There was sort of a fountain or a pond area, but it was not looking good."

"It used to be called Air Force Village West. It’s right on the edge of Riverside; so it’s called Altavita. It’s completely different, and I’ve not seen anything that comes close to what this particular facility is because it’s almost like a little town. They have homes on the streets, and the company maintains the entire outside. All of the yard work, and everything is maintained. They’ll come into your house if something is broken as well. They had units that went anywhere from 600 to 800 sq. ft. in an apartment building or the homes when you drive these different streets. They’ve got single units, duplexes, and something they call a cottage. It’s a beautiful place, but it’s pricey, too. I looked at a one-bedroom duplex with a fantastic view of Moreno valley, but they want $165,000 to move into the place, and you never get that money back. It’s like a donation for them to keep everything running. Then, when you transfer from independent-living to assisted-living, they move you out of that house into an apartment where you’re closer to the medical facilities. Then you lose your house, you’re in an apartment, and now the prices go up because obviously you’re having more individual care. Like I say, it’s a little community all to its own, they have aquatic things for you to do, and lots of activities. It’s very close to a golf course, you can go buy yourself a golf cart to run around with, and put your car in the garage. I don’t know if you’ve ever been on any military bases where they had military family housing, but that’s what it looks like. "
