"My husband is going to go daycare at Almost Home Adult Daycare. They serve lunch and they have a scheduled program throughout the day. Basically, some of it the VA would pay for it, so that was important for me; I have some help financially. They were very nice. In fact, we stayed four hours, and they had an entertainer who was there, and the people seemed to be comfortable there. The place was very clean, the people were very nice, and they looked like they were being kept busy. "

"I was able to visit years ago when my mother was alive. She finally had to go to skilled nursing care rather than assisted living at the Wartburg. She was able to remain home with community Medicaid and a healthcare worker from the Wartburg association. But then her medical condition declined so precipitously that at the end she had to go as an in-patient. It is an excellent place. It is related to the Lutheran Church. I know the head chaplain there very well. I've known her for many years as a colleague because I'm a clergyman too. They have independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing care, rehab, and an Alzheimer's unit. I think they are in the process of constructing a whole new building which will be for rehab. Everything is very fine. There is tremendous attention to the needs of the patients. There is also a strong sense of the faith and the church there. For example they house two communities of retired Dominican sisters in their assisted living complex, so that says an awful lot about that. "

"We have decided to keep my mother at Providence Rest Inc. My mother went on Medicaid, and that's the reason why she stayed there. The staff and atmosphere is fine. The rooms are adequate. They do bingo, games, and my mom is doing rehab, also. Rehab is fine; I don't have any problems with it. The staff is very helpful and will do anything. They seem to be very nice to my mom, even though they are a little understaffed sometimes. "

"My grandfather was at Beth Abraham, and it was good. They treated my grandfather really nicely. There were times that he was a little bit impatient, but I guess that’s what happens to everybody when you don’t live in your own home. The staff was very nice. I don’t have any complaints with them. The place was very clean. There’s a smell once in a while when you pass by a room, but I guess it was the people who are really in a worse condition. But in my thoughts, everything was always OK. There was one person he just didn’t really like, but I can’t even remember her name. Other than that, everybody was nice. Some of the staff even came to his viewing. Even the people who were in there were very nice and polite. For the time that he was there, I would say that he was semi-comfortable. I can’t say completely comfortable because he wasn’t happy about being there anyway because he wanted to be at home. With him it was a delicate situation because of that. The place was very bright. In some rooms, and on certain floors, there was like three beds to a room. So a person with a wheelchair was a little bit hard to maneuver around. They also have these little suites that had one person. "
