I am deeply disappointed with my recent experience with Hospice of the Piedmont. While I understand the complexities of caring for individuals with dementia, the level of professionalism and sensitivity I encountered was far below expectations. Specifically, the social worker assigned to my mother's case repeatedly overstepped boundaries. Her actions, such as attempting to access my mother's financial information and interfering with family decisions, were highly inappropriate. Furthermore, Hospice of the Piedmont's assessment of my mother's cognitive abilities was inaccurate. Despite clear evidence of significant cognitive impairment due to a brain injury, she was discharged with a misleading diagnosis of "mild cognitive impairment." I urge Hospice of the Piedmont to review its practices and ensure that all patients receive compassionate and ethical care, particularly those with complex needs.

My dad was a patient at the hospice residence (Hospice Home) and received outstanding care. All the staff without exception were knowledgeable and deeply caring. They checked on my dad frequently and stayed on top of his every need. The facility is also beautifully kept and peaceful. We frequently walked the halls and beautiful grounds as we kept vigil for Dad. Much care and thought have been given to the comfort of patients and their families. This is the third hospice we’ve had to deal with and is undoubtedly the best. If you are unfortunate enough to need hospice care for yourself or a loved one (and most of us will), you can’t do better than this place.
