My husband is on hospice at home with Allstar Hospice. So far it's a little scary. We just actually started. I really can't say much more than that right now because I don't have that much information about them. The nurses are fine, they're upfront. The communication is very good. We don't have a lot of money to work with, so we're really depending upon Medicare programs and the support that we get through them. So far, everything's going faster than I think, which is really good. Everything is in the beginning stages, so right now it's weekly case manager visits and an aide twice a week for his personal care. Medications, we haven't even bought that one yet. I know that they order them, they have them listed, and they have their own pharmacy, so they select things from their pharmacy, the care team, including the medical director and the case manager and whoever else happens to be working with him at that time. They meet weekly to determine what is it, if any, that my husband is having and to also see if it will be the same for the following week or it needs any adjustments. They will deliver the medications to our doorstep, or so I've been told, we haven't been with them long enough to know. His TCP has an option of participating on the medical team for the hospice care, so that's good. The aides coming every week were caring, concerned, and attentive.
