Hope Hospice stepped in while my mom was in a center. They took care of bathing and taking care of her. They also took care of her medicine. There were not a lot of delays getting a caregiver for my mom even though that was right around Christmas time. They responded very well. My mom decided to be cremated and when she died and they helped us with that. The caregivers were very good, friendly, caring and extremely efficient. My sister in law even sent them a thank you letter to Hope Hospice thanking them. I give them a rating of five because they're definitely worth that.

We were very satisfied with Hope Hospice until the last when we felt that they let us down. They provided the services they promised: hospital bed and all requested medical appliances, pain medications in easily deliverable forms, a great RN to educate family care givers and help us all understand the dying process, and LVNs to bathe the patient 3x per week. The pastor and social worker weren't particularly useful to us, but maybe we just weren't needy in their areas of expertise. Like most hospice, they do not provide 24x7 care. They did give us a list of private pay care givers and we contracted with one of those companies for two 4-hour shifts per day which, with family help, we were able to leverage to provide 24x7 care. The morning of the day Dad died the RN came out and told us he was actively dying and that it would likely happen within five days and that she would come each day thereafter. The frustration we had was when Dad died that evening, Hope Hospice didn't send the RN we had bonded with and instead sent a different RN who we had never met before to pronounce him dead and to make the calls to the medical examiner, funeral home and other authorities. This was very awkward and unexpected.
