This review is for Compassus is Fort Worth: My dad was end stage dementia and my brother, sister and I were unsure what to do next. We had him at home because he always said he didn't want to be in a nursing home. I called Compassus and they were IMMEDIATELY on the ball. They sent nurses, aides, a chaplain and a social worker. They very quickly got us a hospital bed and oxygen. Everyone was caring, compassionate and very important to us, Christian. They prayed with us and my dad and one nurse played hymns on a lap harp which was beyond special. Everyone was so kind and caring. Towards the end, we were provided a box of very powerful pain and anxiety meds to administer to my dad to help ease his transition. After he passed, a nurse stayed with us until someone came to move my dad's body to the funeral home. She also helped us destroy the remainder of the pain meds. We felt, as a family, we were all taken care of, not just my dad. I would not hesitate to recommend this caring, loving, compassionate company to anyone. Compassus, thank you so much, for everything.

There "emergency number" is NOT an actual emergency number. It sends you to the office and the office redirects you to the nurse on duty who will be there as soon as they are available. I would have no problem with this IF they advertised it that way. They make it seem as if they have NURSES waiting to come in in case of an emergency. Also, if you call the "emergency line" for the Dallas office, you will get 2 women who will 1. Put you on hold without explaining anything to you. 2. Say they'll have to "call you back" without explaining anything to you. 3. The moment you get frustrated with them, they will hang up on you. (I understand they probably do not get paid enough but when someone is calling during a stressfull situation that response should be expected) All around I wish we could chose another provider, unfortunately that is not my choice. But let this be a warning to those shopping around for a Hospice provider that Compassus DOES NOT hold up well during emergencies.

Amazing care my family received. I only hope to have this care when I need it personally.
