My father received very poor service from Aseracare. A swallow test was ordered to determine if he could continue on his regular medicine. The hospice nurse didn't have the results a week later. Despite the absence of results, she decided to start giving my 89 yr old father 2mg of Ativan and 10mg of Morphine. He predictably became non responsive due to over medication, and she used his nonresponsive state to say he was "at the end" and gave more Morphine. All I can say is that if you want your loved one to be cognitively present, avoid this organization.

At one time this was a great agency; now, never again would I utilize them. They caused more damage than care, had more excuses than not, and although they have a particularly bubbly nurse, she resulted in deficiencies in nursing care and integrity beyond words. Run elsewhere.

Our family member was adamant about going home from the nursing home. The only way to get there was to be admitted to a hospice program. We knew what hospice entailed but our reluctance to accept our fate didn't make things easier. Our care team, nurses,aides, chaplain & social worker became an extension of our family. They made sure we understood the procedures necessary to care for our loved one & also they would work with us to improvise an application of treatment that would fit our needs. They truly expressed caring & concern for their patient.
