Thoroughly dissatisified

I really wish I knew how horrible the communication was between scheduler, client and aide. When aide called in sick, I was never notified by ABC. When I called after shift started & no aide, received no apology, nor a call BEFORE as would be professional. I was repeatedly told untruths, and had NUMEROUS aides that were not qualified. I heard similar complaints from many aides that were also frustrated. Fact: ABC offers 2week, in house Aide course (cheap) that once completed, aides are "suddenly qualified" with no prior experience at all. It showed. In order to help these new aides, I asked ABC if I could complete an evaluation form so aides could become better to future clients; told no. I had weekly aides complaining that weekend aides didn't do the assigned tasks, and was a recurrent issue. 99% went against policy by constantly using their cell phones, even though reminded repeatedly. I would definitely go with another company.

I've been with ABC Health Care for two years now and I never had a problem with their schedule. My nurse is really, really nice and she helps me a lot. She knows what I need and she gets it done. I've finally got a really good aide and she's been with me for six months now. She cooks meals for me, helps me take a shower, cleans the house, and she knows more about where stuff is in my house than I do. The thing is, she really cares about me. The agency can improve by getting better educated aides.
