It helps me because one of my problems was being able to go to church on Sundays, and the person that comes on Sunday always comes on time and it allows me to go to church. I would tell they are responsible, and if they have problems coming they have a good back.

They help me take care of myself. They don't get in my way. When I need somebody, they look into the people that I want and match that. They wouldn't just send anybody. If I don't like somebody, they will change the person. I have to relate to somebody that takes care of me.

The care that they provide makes it easier for me so I don't have to be there every day or every other day. I only have to go there once a week. They have caring people working for them that are well suited for the job they're undertaking with my loved one. They're kind, compassionate, and the office is always in contact with me. The nurse comes regularly to see if there are changes and the office staff is very friendly.

It hardly had an impact. They should have stuck with one caregiver. They should have classes to teach aides what to do with clients. They kept sending me different aides all the time. The caregivers didn't know about Dementia, and they were too young. They didn't know what they were doing. I was doing all the work because they couldn't interact with my loved one.

Thank you for your feedback and your willingness to take my call to help me resolve the issues you mentioned in your review. You are right, it is best to stick with one caregiver, especially with dementia. We have found a good rule of thumb to establish consistency has been a minimum of 4 hours per day, 3 days per week. That also helps the caregiver become familiar with their client’s preferences. We work hard at training our caregivers and we are proud that our training ranks above the 90th percentile based on independent national surveys conducted by Home Care Pulse. I am sorry your experience was less than exceptional. I thank you for taking the time to speak with me and for your willingness to give Right at Home another try if the need should arise.

The person who does the scheduling really tries to accommodate my loved one's needs as far as placing aides. It depends on the aide. There could be one aide who's awful and needs to be replaced, most of them are good. They have helped by being good company for my loved one.

I'd tell a friend that Right at Home caregivers come promptly and know what to supposed to do. It's an advantage having Right at Home. The caregivers fold clothes, wash the dishes, and keep the sink clean.

I would recommend Right at Home more towards the end of the care than at the beginning because the first few caregivers sat around a lot and did not work. The later caregivers were much better. Right at Home made my life easier because the caregivers were able to provide quality services that my loved one needed done.

The past two days I needed someone they didn't come, but overall the caregivers are always on time. The services give me the opportunity to rest, and go and do activities, and I know my loved one is being cared for.

I was very disappointed by the way Right at Home covered my loved one. There was an aide that came in 5 days a week. They couldn't come on the weekends, so we needed someone to come on the weekends. We could never get continuity with the caregivers on the weekend. It is very unsatisfactory for someone who is ill, to deal with new people everyday. Right at Home looked after my husband. The aide took him to dialysis and drove him back. She assisted him in dressing because he had shingles.

My recommendation depends on the caregivers Right at Home sends. One of the caregivers the agency sends I like, and she has higher qualifications. Right at Home's impact is fine on my life. The caregiver does things that I cannot do, like grocery shopping.

Right at Home does good follow-up with the care they provide. They send people out to check, and make sure that everything is going well. It is nice knowing that someone is with Frieda, and that they will help her with cooking and other tasks she might need help with. It is comforting knowing that someone is making sure she is safe.

Right at Home is attentive. The communication is there as well even though some of it is lacking on my part. Since the staff has changed, I don't feel their communication is as good as it used to be. Right at Home alleviates the stress and the anxiety, knowing that my mother is cared for. My mother's companion is wonderful and has a good handle on how to deal with her.

I’ve tried Right at Home for my father and was not really happy about it. The nurse came in and evaluated my dad. We were happy with that, but when we asked if there was a charge, he said there was no charge. However, then we got a bill for $125. We only used Right at Home for one day because we were not happy with the person that they sent. It wasn’t a good match, so we don’t want to use that company anymore. They also made you pay upfront, and we weren’t happy with that. They said you can cancel anytime, but they didn’t say that if you cancel within 24 hours, you have to pay for the nurse's visit.

We are sorry that you did not feel we explained our policy towards the RN assessment fee clearly to you. It is our policy to wave the initial RN assessment fee, provided the client continues services for a minimum of two weeks. This policy was reviewed with you by the nurse when the assessment was scheduled, prior to starting care. Services were canceled after one day because, as you stated, you were confident the family would be capable of providing care for your father. With the cancellation of services, the fee was not waived, as explained in the assessment scheduling conversation. Again, we are sorry that you did not have an excellent experience with us. Our goal is to improve the quality of life for those we serve every day. Right at Home is Eastern Queens’ trusted in-home care partner.

Right at Home provides in-home caregiving services for thousands of families across the nation. We offer companionship and help with everyday tasks that have become challenging for an aging person. This may include things like meal preparation, laundry, housekeeping, hygiene and grooming. We also offer services for those with special care situations caused by numerous medical conditions such as Alzheimer's disease and other dementias. Custom Care Plan

From the moment you call, we begin considering the specific needs of your loved one. We ask questions during the initial call or meeting to form a basic needs assessment. After discussing your particular situation, we will prepare an initial Custom Care Plan and then work with you to fine tune that Care Plan based on your loved one's specific needs. Once the plan is agreed upon, your local Right at Home team matches the right caregiver to implement the plan.

Caregiver Training and Care Supervision

Every Right at Home caregiver goes through an extensive interview process, including background checks. Once hired, caregivers are trained through Right at Home University to ensure that they're able to deliver the care set out in your loved one's Custom Care Plan. Before providing care, they're bonded and insured.
