Serenity Hospice was not there for my family in any way other than checking in once a week and sending a nurse over for 20 minutes or less. Half the time no vitals were checked and no comment was made on my mom’s status. The day she died, we insisted hospice come to evaluate her and we’re told it was not imminent and she had several days left despite it being abundantly clear that she checked off every “sign of imminent death” on google. We listened to the nurse and she died while everyone was asleep thinking we would have a few more days to say goodbye. As my dad has put it, this was “DIY hospice” through and through. Half the time they were not responsive, the other half they acted like our concerns didn’t matter. The last day the nurse came, they told us to quadruple my mom’s morphine and never came back or checked in on us after that. Do not trust this company with the care of your loved one.
