I can not express in words the compassion my Dad and family members received while my dad was in hospice care at the Poppen House. At the most difficult time in my life, I found a tremendous amount of peace while visiting my Dad. To the entire staff there, Thank you! My father went to the The Leila and Cyrus Poppen Hospice Residence - Harbor Hospice. It's number one. They were just absolutely wonderful. I highly recommend them. They were truly compassionate. They really cared about Dad and about us in making sure that we were satisfied with what we wanted for him, for his comfort, and his cleanliness. Those were the most important things to us. He was bedbound, so he had complete care. The staff and the nurses were excellent. They were never in a hurry. They always took the time, stayed as long as we needed, and answered every question. It was just really excellent to work with them.

My mom was at Poppen for close to six months. Excellent, no better place to have your loved one. They took such good care of her. Staff was very attentive. They treated her respectfully. Every time I came she was clean and smelled so good. Most people that go there aren't there that long, but the care never faltered over those months. I can't tell you how much that helped us through. I grew to love the staff and will miss talking to them every week This place is beautiful, the rooms are spacious and have large windows for the client to enjoy looking through or the family sitting there day after day or week after week. There are facilities for the family and room to stay overnight if you like. My mom died there with dignity, love and the best of care on May 21, 2016. I cannot express how grateful I am to the staff at the Poppen Hospice Residence. My father received loving and professional care. Our family was supported emotionally and spiritually, from warmed blankets to cookies and coffee, the staff was there for us. The pastor sang at my father's bedside on his last day and I know he heard. The Poppen House was a blessing.

I can not say enough wonderful things about the Poppen House and the wonderful staff there. My father (Daniel) ended up being in their care for 80 days. The staff was not only attentive, caring and loving, to my father and all of his needs, they were also very patient, supportive, caring and loving to all of us (his family). We as a family can never thank you enough for the care you gave to my dad and for the extra time we got to spend with him because of the wonderful care he received.
