I’m using HomeCare.com. It’s fine. They’re very good and very responsive to any concerns I have, and they’ve provided me with a good health care aide, not great necessarily, but good. They also provide light housekeeping, they help me clean myself up, and they take me to my appointment. They get here within a certain time window between 7 and 7:30, and that’s when I need them here. A lot of times my communication is directly with the aides. If she can’t come on a certain day, the agency would contact me to see whether I need some assistance or need somebody to fill me in on a given day. I think I’m paying more than I probably should because they have a mandatory number of days that I can contract for, and that’s probably more than I usually need. To maintain the contract, I have to keep them on a certain number of days.

Prominent HomeCare Solutions was contacted 9/27/2018 to help me once I returned home 9/28/18 from rehab. I’m recovering from a fall resulting in a broken hip and not confident I can safely take care of myself alone. Although it was short notice when I reached out to Prominent HomeCare – my needs were met and everyone worked together to ensure I felt like a priority.
I received their information from the rehab along with other care providers. I chose Prominent HomeCare Solutions because they were responsive, proactive and they provide transportation services (which is important to me).
Everyone I have encountered has been pleasant, the caregivers are warm and wonderful and I LOVE the Family Room! It help me manage my care online!
I highly recommend!

Financial Assistance for Home Care in Valley View, TX
Given the high cost of in-home care, many people use one or more forms of financial assistance to cover the expenses. Below, we explain some of the most common sources of financial help for paying for in-home care. If none of these options are available to you, you can reach out to your Area Agency on Aging or Aging and Disability Resource Center to learn about local resources.
- Long-Term Care Insurance: Long-term care insurance covers expenses related to senior care, including in-home care. Depending on the policy type, beneficiaries may receive a cash payment to use towards long-term care or reimbursement for qualifying long-term care expenses. Note that there are limitations- typically a maximum benefit of $150 per day- and exact coverage terms vary depending on the exact policy, so always check the details.
- Medicare: Medicare does not cover in-home care because it is classified as custodial, or non-medical, care. However, some Medicare Advantage and Medicare Supplement plans, which offer expanded benefits, may cover in-home custodial care.
- Medicaid: Medicaid coverage of in-home care varies between different states because it is not a federally mandated benefit. Currently, all states cover some in-home care either through their standard Medicaid or a waiver program. The specific coverage rules are set individually by each state.
- Veterans’ Benefits: The Aid and Attendance benefit is a monthly cash payment that beneficiaries can use to pay for senior care, including in-home care services. To qualify for A&A, Veterans must already receive the VA pension and meet several additional requirements, including needing assistance with the activities of daily living. Contact the Department of Veterans Affairs to learn more.
- Reverse Mortgages: Home Equity Conversion Mortgages (HECMs) are federally insured loans that are available to homeowners age 62 and over. Reverse mortgages allow you to access a portion of your home’s equity in cash, tax free. Many seniors use reverse mortgages to finance their care expenses, including in-home care. Note that although there are no monthly payments due on reverse mortgage loans, borrowers do have to repay the loan once the last surviving homeowner passes away, moves, or sells the home.

Weatherization services are, however, delivered regionally by community and local government agencies. In Cooke County, the responsible organization is the Texoma Council of Governments. Applicants must meet eligibility guidelines that require a maximum income of no more than $25,760 for a single-person home. These income limits increment upwards for additional members of a household. Seniors and low-income families are given priority treatment by the Weatherization Program and may apply whether they own or rent their homes.
