"Right At Home was a wonderful choice for our family 's needs. The aids are all professional, friendly, and caring. A few of them are phenomenal cooks too. My Aunt always had a companion not only to talk to, but someone to help with daily activities when needed. The agency is also good about responding to appointments as well as issues that may arise at the house. When the air conditioner went on the blink during a 90-degree week, the agency set up a portable unit in the house to keep my Aunt comfortable. My Aunt's life was greatly enhanced by the love and care provided by Right At Home. They get my highest recommendation."

"Home Instead of Whitehall, PA, took care of my beloved Mother for over 15 years. As she progressed into deep dementia, her caregivers were there 24/7. They loved and cared for her as I would have. Nothing was too much to ask of them. She loved them all, and I know they loved her also. It showed. Their entire staff was professional and went above and beyond. Kidding with her, telling stories, listening to music, singing with her, feeding and bathing her - nothing was too much to ask of any them. I have told many people about their caring service, and will continue to do so. They are "simply the best". "

"I want to be assured that my family member is safe and will be properly provided for. Dementia is a very challenging disorder that is accompanied with paranoia and often combativeness, so the at-home comfort is important to my sister's mental and physical well-being."

"This organization is great. I am an 83 year old widow, and I cannot drive, nor am I in the best of health either. They take me to doctors, they take me shopping, and they help clean my house. They are all polite and friendly. I would recommend them to anyone who needs help like I do. "

"Blue Mountain Home has been wonderful. They take very well care of her. I don’t have any complaints, and it worked out well. She was admitted into their rehab services, and when she came home, we just went from their services. This was the best situation. Good manner right away, no waiting, and it worked out well. She has several different caregivers, and her nurse comes once a week. It’s a hospital, and in the hospital they do in-patient rehab. They do have their in-home care services through the facility itself. Initially, she was ill. She stayed 12 days in the intensive care; she was in septic shock when I found her. It was life or death, but the hospital took very good care of her. She had some rooms that need to be taken care of. The rooms were basically like hospital rooms. All of the rehab was on the same floor. They did group therapy and private therapy. I would recommend them. "

"My mom is using Caring Senior Service. I have them 24/7. They make light meals, heat up meals, light housekeeping, help her to the bathroom, help her dress, and help her shower. All the things that caregivers do. Most of the caregivers are good. We've had some issues with caregiving. They call off, they quit. So it's been challenging with them but the company themselves, they keep trying to get us good people and they're good people to work with. The majority of the caregivers when they show up are good. Management tries very hard to schedule, but it doesn't always work out. The billing is fine, it's normal billing."

"My mother has dementia and lives alone in a condominium. As typical of a person with dementia, she has difficulty eating and often either forgets to eat or doesn't eat enough. I wanted some support for her through the use of a home health aide a few days a week, primarily to monitor her meals and provide companionship. I interviewed multiple agencies and Orange Caregivers really stood out. I am an RN and I wanted someone with compassion and patience because my mother is difficult at times. And I am not disappointed. She has received wonderful care that is full of warmth and I plan to continue our contract with Orange Caregivers. The agency has always answered my requests and questions. Anna, the aide assigned to my mother is always on time and ready to assist my mom. I have reviewed her daily notes and she is doing an excellent job. I highly recommend this agency. "

"Comforting Home Care by Phoebe Lehigh Valley was very good. They were home care aides. We used the home care for a while for one or two days a week while my mom was in rehab for a few weeks. My mom lived with me and they just aided me and sort of gave me a little break when I had to go out and things that I had to do, but I was with her 24/7. In my case, their service was basically like companionship because I did all her bills, I clean the house, and I shop. I pretty much cared for her, but in this case, it was just companionship. I chose them because they were local and had an opening, which was very hard to find at the time, and they had people that were available to come. I was happy with the woman that they sent. We got to know her pretty well and she became like a friend. Unfortunately, my mom just got too weak, and we had to put her into senior living. We were only with them for a couple of months. Their billing and scheduling were very good. I had no problem. They accommodated anything I needed. We only did Tuesdays. We were just starting with Tuesday and Thursday, and then that was it, so we never really got any further than four hours a week. They were very on the ball. They answered all my questions. Billing was never a problem. There was always someone there to pick up the phone and answer my questions."

"I am a family member who sought the assistance of Visiting Angels for my aging parents. I live out of state and am not as accessible to my parents to assist them with their daily living. Visiting Angels, and especially Marlon has been very patient, understanding and helpful in coordinating care and assistance my parents with transportation, errands, bathing, cleaning taking them to church, as well as communicating regularly with me. We are new to Visiting Angels, but have had positive experiences thus far. I am grateful for this service!"

Given the high cost of in-home care, many people use one or more forms of financial assistance to cover the expenses. Below, we explain some of the most common sources of financial help for paying for in-home care. If none of these options are available to you, you can reach out to your Area Agency on Aging or Aging and Disability Resource Center to learn about local resources.
