Delaware Hospice was wonderful. My husband was very ill when we approached De Hospice and they were at our home within 30 minutes. They spent all the time we needed to help us understand their programs, including their Transitions care which took care of us until my husband became terminal. When that happened, the move to Hospice care was seamless. Medications arrived promptly, their assistants made it easy for me to spend time with my husband instead of running errands or worrying about his personal care. They were there when he died and took care of making the proper calls, waited with me until the ambulance arrived, and staying with me until I was ready to be alone. The care contacts continued for over a year, checking on me, and helping me cope. And there was never a bill. I recommend Delaware Hospice to everyone. Thank you, Delaware Hospice.

I hate to give them 1 star. My mother was referred and waited 4 days for services. Care discussed during the initial meeting was never offered (even refused). I had Medical POA and never spoke with the doctor. The medication plan was never discussed with me. I had to ask then wait and ask again for a foley catheter to be placed after admission to the care center. My mother fell out of bed at home after being admitted to Hospice and PRMC refused to treat her. She returned home, was over-medicated and never regained full consciousness. Hospice did not check to make sure there was a brain bled or shoulder fracture from the fall. The staff was sure to emphasize that my father wasn't taking good care of her which was untrue. The ambulance company that transported her took an extended route which meant she spent unnecessary time in the ambulance to/from home and the care center. She died at home on a Saturday evening and it took them 2 hrs to respond. My request for an autopsy was denied. Bereavement services has yet to reach out to me or my father.

My mother passed away. She did hospice care with Delaware Hospice. Yes, I would recommend them. They were very nice and very helpful. They gave me the assets that I needed to take care of my mom. They had counseling if needed before and after death. They also provided a nurse on call and they provided someone to come into my house to change my mom at half hour forty-five minutes a day and change the bed.

I had heard so much about Delaware Hospice because I live only 15 minutes away from it. The ladies came all the way to the hospital at 10:30 at night, and they transferred Mother to Delaware Hospice. Mother was there for such a short time before she passed right in the room. Everything that could have been done for her was done. They made you feel good about what was going to happen with their attitude and their friendliness. They made it so easy for you. The room was lovely. It was like a 4-star hotel. The whole facility, plus the people who were working there, were just exceptional people. They said we were going to love it there at the facility, and we did. The nurse who was on call was super. She explained things to us, what was going to happen, what's the possibility of when her passing conceivably would occur.
