worried about safety

My daughter has to be hoyered in and out of her bed. The aid she had put the sling under her wrong, and didn't fix it. Then when she went to put her in her wheelchair , she didn't have the wheelchair positioned right, the aid needed to just put her back in bed and start over. she said she will be alright and the hoyer came 2 feet off the floor and my daughter could had slid out. I think their aids shouldn't be in such a hurry and get the job done right. Then they blamed it on her husband and said they discharged her because of him.

ABC has always came through for my family. Great staff that actually take care of people.

This place is horrible they change the nurses that they send out constantly. They call them all day while they are in my home trying to provide care for me. I ended up in the hospital several times because they hire people who have no clue as to what they are suppose to do. They have some very dirty employees. They are not dependable and would recommend going with anyone else.

I went to this agency because I knew a personal care provider that worked for the company. I informed the company up front that I would only want this one provider to care for my family member and with much hesitation they agreed but with conditions. My family member was allowed just over 40 hours of care a week and the company refused to allow the provider to work more than 39 hours because overtime was not permitted (by the way when you pay a company to staff a provider the company gets $14-15 per hour but pays the employee $8 - these providers have people's lives in their hands but the company won't even allow them to work a couple of hours of overtime because they want as much money as they can get!) In the past when I've worked with other similar home health companies they are there to make sure the hours don't get reduced. But not ABC! They actually try to get hours taken away from my family member. After I reminded them she had been in the hospital twice in less than one month for very serious conditions they backed down. These companies are suppose to help their clients have better lives but ABC is all about their profit. They say they are a family to their clients and employees but their actions are more like those of your worst enemy. Many of their employees that work in the field are amazing and I don't want this post to imply otherwise. I do want everyone to know that even with amazing field employees this company makes it near impossible to keep the good people coming to care for your family. Please think twice before utilizing this agency. There are so many choices that there is no need to put yourself through the callousness of this company.
