I toured Cardinal Ridge Residential Care. I liked that it was a smaller setting. There seemed to be lots of activities taking place when I visited it, and the fact that there was a nice garden outside area that they're able to visit if they wanted to. The director there was very helpful with the information. She gave me some information about Medicare and said that sometimes it takes a lot of time and paperwork, so it seemed like they were very willing to help with that process. They have a cook there and she seemed fabulous. She made everything from scratch. I did not have a meal there, but it looked very inviting. The only downfall was that it took a long time for them to accept any Medicare assistance. They have their private little bath in the room and a nice little bed with a chair. It seemed pretty roomy. The outside space is like their garden area they could go outside. It's very, very nice, and they're near the water, too.

Cardinal Ridge Residential Care is a nice place to put your loved one. Everybody there is caring, giving, and interested in how well they're giving care to the residents. They have different individuals that take care of the people, there are ones that do cleaning, and ones who do the cooking. The caregivers are there to give care to the people that need it. My husband is in assisted living. The rooms are very nice, they have their own bathrooms, and they're all 1-bedrooms. They have people that come in, they sing, they play games, and they have exercise routines. The food is delicious. I've eaten supper and dessert there, and everything is homemade. It's really clean. I'd like to see them do more activities. Maybe they do not have enough people participating in the activities? You pay for what you get.
