"We have chosen The Lodge at Whispering Pines for my mother because of the amount of footage in the room, the very good relationship between the workers and the people who are living there, and the many activities and choices available at each meal. There's a beauty salon. There are walk-in bathtubs. The residents can ask for a big tub so their whole body gets warmed up, so that's an extra. This is a family-run place, which is also very nice. The staff member who gave the tour was very good. He showed me the place and explained things throughout the process. The place was very nice and updated."

"We chose the Lodge at Whispering Pines because it has a rural setting. It’s one level and shaped like a bow tie where my sister could walk all through the interior. It’s also a newer facility. The people we met were extremely friendly and very accommodating. They have treated my sister very well. They have on-site physical therapy, a nurse, and medication dispensing. My sister is Catholic. They have a priest come in and say mass once a week, and she also gets Communion. They also have singers come in, therapy dogs, and bingo, too. I’m glad my sister’s there, and I think I see improvements in her just from the socialization there. I feel good about the facility. "

"Maple Ridge is a very warm and welcoming community - both the staff and residents. My sister moved there in September 2024. She has been very happy there and that is the number one priority. Her apartment is very nice. She was able to bring many items from her former apartment in a different city, and that helped her feel at home. She was also invited to participate in an activity her first day at Maple Ridge! I have not been real happy with the Maple Ridge administration. While caring, they are very slow at getting back to family members with our concerns and questions. I know they are busy, but when it takes a week (or more), that is not right. It's almost like, we're taking care of .... you should just trust us to do this (take care of her, I mean)."

"I have had a great deal of experience with this particular assisted living facility. While there is no "perfect" care facility, I have been very satisfied, especially in the last few years, with the level of care. The management staff responds well to my questions and concerns, and will seek to work with me to arrive at a solution. The overall building and rooms are in excellent shape, clean, and well maintained. The meals are typically very good, but I do supplement the food by bringing in my own healthy choices. The building and grounds are safe and secure with a home-like atmosphere. While I do not have intimate knowledge of all the surrounding assisted living facilities, I would not be inclined to seek out an alternate care facility for my loved one. "

"Arborwood Lodge is nice, clean, light, and airy. I liked the fact that it has a separate bedroom from the living area and the rooms are nice and big. The staff is friendly, caring, and available. My mother gets three meals a day, and they do all her laundry, and all her cleaning. They have exercise classes and church services if they want to attend or they could play bingo and cards. It's just a very nice, clean facility. The director was very helpful and came out to my mom's place to help do the paperwork and stuff. I'm just very pleased with everything."

"My mother has already moved to Our House Senior Living - Wisconsin Rapids Assisted Care. I really enjoyed the community, the staff, the surroundings, the food, and the atmosphere. She's not really memory care, but they're able to give her lots of reminders and help. It's a 1-level facility. The dining room and gathering spaces are in the middle, and then the rooms and apartments are to the left and right. The outside appearance is very friendly with flowers, trees, and bushes. Its brick, so it's very attractive. The staff that I met was very outgoing and curious of what mom's likes and dislikes are. They cater to specific people. It's a smaler faciilty, so they're able to. I'm very pleased with it, and that they're very caring and concerned. The food is very good, and they have encouraged family members to eat with them. They have a set lunch and set dinner time. For breakfast, it's kind of any time in the morning. There's no set time for breakfast. You can either eat at 6:00 in the morning or 10:00 in the morning, but the lunch is always at noon and supper is always at 5:00. They do arts and crafts, bingo, Yahtzee, cards, board games and outside activities (like gardening). Her room has a bathroom and a sink, but we can make it anything we want. Her room is just the right size. It's not too big nor too small, but it's decorated however we want to do it. We have lots of pictures of family, and it's very homey."

"My mother has moved into Hilltop Grand Village. It's brand new, so it's very nice and comparable in price to other communities. The staff members are fine. They're very helpful and do what they need to be doing. The grounds are very nice. My mother hasn't participated in many activities because she is not overly sociable. They have a pool and even do therapy in there. Residents seem to be active."

"My sister was at The Renaissance Assisted Living in Wisconsin Rapids, so I know quite a bit about it. It's something that we are looking into and putting our name in. I spent a lot of time with her, so I'm kind of familiar with their policies. They were very informative and answered all our questions. My son and his wife were along and showed us a room and where everything was. They gave us the menu that they have and what's available as far as going to like a church service or going shopping, just regular life. The rooms that we looked at were both one-bedroom. They had a large living area, a small kitchenette, and a very large bathroom that would be easy to use if you were in a wheelchair or anything like that. We were just very happy with the size. It's in our town, so we're more prone to go to that one. We were very satisfied with everything. We were just happy with all the information that we got. I haven't tried the food lately, but I had when my sister was there. She liked it there, and she was very happy with the food. Because it's in our town, we know people who have been there. The dining area was beautiful, very clean, and very welcoming."

"My sister went to a small facility called Our House Senior Living - Wisconsin Rapids Memory Care. She picked it because her granddaughter lives a block away, and she could come and visit. They're really good about calling me and informing me of any issues. She likes the food. She likes that they take field trips. Once a month, they go somewhere with them, which is really important, so she can get out of the facility and go see some sites. The care is good. It's a small facility, so she's getting to know everyone and the staff really well. It's an older facility, so it's showing a little wear and tear, but it's well-maintained. It's nice, clean, and neat. They're doing art projects, and they have musicians coming in. This is her fourth place that she's been in in the last year. So far, this is the happiest she's been. I think she's connecting with the people and connecting with the staff."

"We stopped in to check out the Harmony of Wisconsin Rapids as we were in the vicinity looking at assisted living options for our aunt. We needed to come earlier than planned, and the staff was friendly and accommodating. The manicured outside grounds looked spacious and well kept will plenty of room for parties and for residents to enjoy easily and safely. The main rooms were nicely decorated and the residents seemed quite happy. The activities looked interesting, from local entertainment, to cultural happenings in the region. Residents are encouraged to participate in everything -- from outdoor outings such as nature walks, to in-house events. The snacks offered looked healthy and delicious; the staff encouraged everyone to eat regularly, including healthy snacks that are offered throughout the day. The food we tried was delicious. They make every effort to accommodate as many tastes and dietary needs as possible. Our aunt would really like their menu options, which seemed to have a lot of variety. The library was nicely stocked - and we were told that many of the residents are avid readers, like our aunt is. She would particularly like the garden area, where many of the residents spend quality time. The residents here all looked well cared for and happy; we could see our aunt blending in well here. "

"My sister-in-law was at the Cranberry Court, and I was very impressed with it. The rooms were a little bit smaller, but it was very clean. The workers were all pleasant to me. I saw the dining area, but it didn't have any residents in it. They were in their rooms because of the COVID. They don't have a refrigerator and a microwave in their rooms, although the microwave isn't that important to me, the refrigerator is. If you want to have some drinks in the room, you can just put it right in the refrigerator, but they don't have that. I liked the layout, too. There's one area where there were birds and chairs, and another area with more chairs and a big TV. They had a courtyard where you could plant flowers, which would also be a great interest to my sister-in-law, because she's got lot of flowers at her home. The rooms don't have showers or bathing areas, but they have them down the hall from the room where she showed me. Quite a few years ago I had a different sister-in-law in Cranberry Court for quite some time, and she had excellent care. That was one of the reasons why I visited there to check them out again."

"WE LIVE AT RIVER RUN LIVING. WE LOVE IT. COULDN'T ASK FOR A BETTER PLACE TO LIVE. THE PEOPLE HERE ARE SO NICE AND SO HELPFUL WHEN NEEDED. WOULDN'T WANT TO LIVE ANY WHERE ELSE. SO HAPPY HERE."

"I had an in-person tour of the Wisconsin Veterans Home at King. The rooms were sufficient. They just built a new wing called Moses, but it was full. It's an older facility, but it's large. There were a lot of veterans. It was just very military-oriented, with a lot of military pictures. It has a beautiful setting. Everything was good. The staff was very compassionate and nice. They had a bowling alley in their facility. There's a big restaurant that families can go to where you pay and sit by a lake. They had a big library. They had activities like bingo games."
