"My dad has been at Oak Park Place Baraboo since the first part of October. They do a very good job, and the staff is pretty good. They keep my dad very comfortable, fed, and clean. The food is good. The place is very new, modern, and nice. It's like a nice home as opposed to some of the other memory care units where it's pretty much a hospital situation. They also have a lot of activities to keep them active."

"It was a nice facility. They have everything that we need. The only thing is their rooms are just bigger versions of a hospital room. It's just one area and it was small. It wasn't what we were looking for. If my aunt is going to live her life out there, I would prefer she would have a separate bedroom area and sitting area. For some people, that's not necessary though, so it was still a nice facility and they have a lot to offer. A lot of the residents were sitting out front when we got there. It's got a nice patio on the front. The lady showed us everything that they had and she talked about the facility."

"I chose Middleton Crossing for Independent Living, for my mom, for several reasons. I found the facility to be well maintained and clean. What really impressed me was the staff. I interviewed Middleton Crossing a couple of times before deciding to sign. During my time there, I had the opportunity to see the staff not only greeting each resident by name, but also knowing something personal about them to mention with the greeting. It's so very obvious that it's not just a job for the staff. They truly care for the residents AND their families."

"We choose Sylvan Crossing at Westshire for my brother because it is a small community and a fairly new facility, but we have not move him in yet. The inside is gorgeous. They have 32 private rooms and they are absolutely beautiful, spotless and very generous space wise. The dining room, the gathering area, the rooms that are open and available and all of the different rooms, I am amazed on how big they are. They are also in very nice size, well light and they are all in outset and facing windows. We didn't eat there, but I did see on the board what they are having each meal and it looks nice and well balanced meal. They tell me that they fix everything from scratch.The only thing that I notice is that they have a kind of a porch on the outside that has spindles and the spindles can be re-painted, but other than, they have a lovely parking lot and it is close to the water. The one who assisted us is the assisted manager and her name is Carmen. She is very helpful. She isn't expecting us, so we come in there as a surprise, but she shows us the whole facility. They have a list of activities posted, very morning after breakfast they have exercises and after that, people have a choice of what they can do or if they don't want to do any of them, they can go visit in the lounge area, go to their rooms or go outside for a walk around the facility. They have a walking path around the entire facility. It is very pleasant, homey and very nice. The location is wonderful. It is like in a cove and there is a lake there. The staff is very happy. They are doing their job and they are smiling. I will recommend them. "

"I have never seen such a connected group of families, like I have at Brookdale Middleton Stonefield. We all keep in touch and talk to each other and say hi to other family members loved ones when stopping in, the staff there are always happy and engaging with everyone. Britta is a doll and keeps everyone busy and having fun! I can't express how happy I am that we chose this location for our Grandma. She has a cozy studio and it fits all she could need and the layout is very easy to get around. Beautiful outdoor secured walking area with seating. In a wonderful location. "

"My sister moved in. The rooms are spacious, and most of them kitchenettes, so it's more like an apartment than an institution. It's extremely clean, everybody is very helpful, and we like everyone there. The people that live there all seemed pleased with the facility. They have a game room. I don't really know the list of activities, but that's not why we chose the place (the activities were not important to us). The person we met was very knowledgeable and explained the different type of licenses in the state of Wisconsin. She was very helpful. They help the residents get dressed, help them with mobility issues, laundry, and they have a van for transportation available two days a week that's wheelchair accessible."

"My father has moved into Coventry Village. I like best that they have a men's group. The least is probably that they don't have three meals a day automatically, it's two. The staff was very friendly and engaging. It's very clean and very nice. They have ice cream socials, happy hour, and art activities. I've met with the artistic director a couple of times. I would recommend it just because of the friendliness of the people there."

"Brookdale Madison West was very good. We ate once there yesterday because that was something we wanted to do, and I'm a vegetarian and so we talked to somebody. My impression was the people were friendly. I'm a little unhappy with the staff. I've called them today and they didn't really get back to me very well. The facility was very nice. It was very well put together. It's attractive when you walk in. The meals were incredible. The guy in charge came by, because I am in need of protein, and he offered me plant-based chicken. It was the most delicious meal I've had. It's incredible. Their amenities are basic for a two bedroom at $7,500. You pay your own cable and they give you a pendant."

"I toured Oak Park Place Nakoma. Sue, the director, was the most kind, caring, and generous with the time of any of the people. She was the most proactive in terms of follow-up and not pressuring you at all but just really being in it for the people. It's apparent that she cares about all the people involved and that they truly care about the residents and their families. It was a very good comprehensive tour. In terms of the condition of the place, I would say it was really nice and well-maintained. It's like a newer facility and it's nice looking. They have some nice communal areas. Currently, the average age of their residents is older than my father-in-law who has early-onset dementia. A lot of the patients there were in a little further and later stages of dementia, so that was a negative for us. Part of why we're looking at centers is so that my father-in-law can have socialization, but if you have a lot of bedridden or wheelchair-bound patients that aren't as social with the activities, that makes it harder. Their memory care unit isn't on the first floor, it's on the second floor, so their only outdoor space is a concrete balcony versus other places we toured that had memory care that had an outdoor patio with some green space. Since nature is a huge love of my father-in-law, that's a big thing for us. "

"It was spacious. The staff was friendly, and everyone looked very content. They have an activity room, a bus that would take them to different grocery stores when necessary, and an outdoor gazebo. People can also put their own flowers outside this time of year. They just don't have a large outside area. They have some decks and a gazebo, but it would be nice to have a bigger yard for the residents."

"My sister has moved into Quarry Ridge Retirement last week. It fits her needs the best. They had everything she needed right there as far as the staff cleaning and all the meals. It was just a very nice place. The person who was managing and doing the tour was very informative. We tried the food, and it was a five. I had one meal, but it was very good as far as quality and presentation."

"I like Charter Senior Living of Madison. The atmosphere was more like an apartment living. It had a full kitchen and a patio or a deck off the unit, so I liked that. It was pretty bright and airy. It's newer and everything. The staff was nice. She was great. They waved and said hello. I like that it is pretty convenient and everything. It is secluded but still convenient. It is still close to the city. They offered all the different services for whatever particular point your loved one is at. The tour experience is good. The tour person was great. It was very clean and very well kept up."

"I liked that Prairie Gardens was a smaller community and that it was a husband and wife who owned and ran it. So, it seemed more personal. They have all the things that most assisted living have, like 24-hour assistance if needed. The rooms were nice. They showed us through the building and I thought it was a very nice homey facility. They have the usual three meals a day. The owner was very friendly and did a nice tour."
