"Phaire's Care's price was a lot cheaper, but you get what you pay for. If you don't have as much money, it would be a nice facility. It didn't feel like a family. It was very lonely and it was very dark in there. It was also older but very clean. We had an appointment but they were unaware that we were coming. One of the staff members there was very nice and took us around. The rooms were dark and dingy, not bright and cheery."

"We went to Sumter East Health & Rehabilitation Center, but they didn't have any female beds. It seemed like a regular nursing home with private rooms instead of just semi-private. They had activities for the seniors. It was very clean, and the staff was very nice. They had a full nursing staff, too. They had a therapy room and a common room."

"This facility is always very clean and they work hard to make it feel like a home setting rather than nursing home. The nurses are all dressed in white to be easily identified and professional. There is plenty of staff available, and frequent activities for the residents. They also have therapy in house for PT, ST, and OT. This facility has new furniture, nicely decorated rooms, and a homely feeling. They have birdcages inside for residents to view. Each room has a window to view outside the facility and the grounds are fairly well kept. They encourage residents to get out and be active with the events and facility. Like I said, the staff are well dressed. They are all accredited professionals that have training and continued training. The nurses all dispense the medications on time and keep them safely in a locked cart with each resident having their own drawer. They also are very on top of wound care and skin breakdown prevention. Some rooms also have bed alarms to let staff know if a resident is off of their bed and potentially in danger Overall, this is one of the best places in this area for nursing homes. I feel that they do a good job with their residents and would recommend this facility. "

"I visited Northwoods Senior Living. The staff was very friendly, the building was much older than I thought it would be, it could definitely use some updating, but the residents seemed pretty happy. The rooms were nice, but they have to share a sink. The staff was very nice, and busy taking care of the residents."

"Covenant Place was excellent. The only thing about them was the way it's set up. You would go in one direction to the activity room and then you go in another roundabout way to the dining room, but in the other place, everything is in a square, so your everything's connected much better. I didn't try their food at Covenant Place, but their menu looked really good. They had a lot of foods the seniors would like. The apartments were very nice. Their facility was clean. It's a very nice place. The staff who gave the tour was outstanding. She assisted me even though I wasn't going to Covenant Place, because their goal was to help my mother most of all. She assisted me with finding out about other things and making sure that I was OK, because it was a very stressful time for me. She was absolutely wonderful."

"My great aunt was place at the Kingstree Nursing facility a few months back. As it is for most this was a hard decision for our family to make so we set out in search of the best facility we could find for her. Since the location was close to home and we are from such a small town we were familiar with some of the staff this seemed like a great fit for her. We weren't wrong in our choice. At first glance it's not the most glamorous of places and I was a bit on the concerned side that yeah this place was ok but we could do better for her. Our doubts were eased as time passed. She seemed happy there; the staff was very kind and attended to her needs quite well. Any issues we had seemed to be addressed quite quickly. The facility is very clean and the staff very professional. They made us feel like we had made the right decision giving her far better care than any of us could have provided. Since she's close we can all frequently visit her and we are always made to feel very welcome. We are always informed of the goings on and new things and issues that arise with her. They keep the patients active there are always little things going on to keep them busy which suites my aunt quite well. All in all I have to say we are super pleased with our decision to place her here. "

"They served real home-cooked meals, had games, books and a piano for entertainment. The staff really cares and takes time with the residents to make sure they have everything they need. The owner lives right next door and someone is always there with the residents. The staff are always busy cooking, cleaning or just talking with the residents. They are great people and we had no worries having my grandmother stay there. L & M took great care of her and brought her out of the stupor she had sunk into at a previous assisted living place. "

"My wife was at Calhoun Convalescent Center. They are fully staffed. They have exercises, games, doctors, and nurses. It’s a topnotch place to me, but we could not afford it. The rooms were clean. They offer quite a bit of activities. They are really good and I would highly rate this place. The staff is really efficient and steadily cleaning the place every day. "
