The Calhoun Convalescent Center was awesome. I actually liked it better than the other facility. I thought that the people were more outgoing and friendly. The lady who gave us the tour had been doing this job for 2 to 3 years. She felt more comfortable and confident than the lady at the other facility. We only saw one room because I believe the others were occupied. The rooms were basically the same. They were on the smaller side because it is a nursing home. They had their own restroom, but it did not have a shower. They have a community shower, so they can help them bathe. They were nice rooms and clean. They looked well kept. We spoke to the activities director. She seemed very enthusiastic and seemed like she would be really good with the patients.

My wife was at Calhoun Convalescent Center. They are fully staffed. They have exercises, games, doctors, and nurses. It’s a topnotch place to me, but we could not afford it. The rooms were clean. They offer quite a bit of activities. They are really good and I would highly rate this place. The staff is really efficient and steadily cleaning the place every day.

When I visit nursing homes, I have to be specific about the safety of my clients. I would not place any of my clients here. I've read enough reports from 2008 to Feb 2011 to know that they need alot of work. Their are a number of deficiencies to consider from nutrional, dietary, mistreatment, environmental and more. It looks nice, but needs more work and better employees.
