I went to Pinebrook. It was just okay. It's another one that seemed more like a giant apartment building complex. The layout is decent. I don't know what, if it was my frame of mind when I went in because it's the first one I visited, and I knew. How am I looking forward to moving there? I just was not impressed with it at all. The memory care unit is a separate building, so if one of them went in, the other one would have to walk outside to go visit. And that was not a very good setup there. The rooms were quite small. It was the first one I toured, but I was kind of thrown back by how small they were compared to where my parents were living now. And maybe that's just an unfair comparison, but it just seemed to be a little too small with a studio and a small bedroom off to the side.

I toured Pinebrook. It was an excellent visit, and very professional. It's a very clean, nice facility. All the amenities, the apartments, those little suits look nice. They had all the safety protocols. They got the services they needed. They had a lot of activities. They had a rec room, a little exercise room, and a library. They had a nice dining area. It was very well done, spacious, and clean. I would love my dad to live there. It's only two miles from where I live, so it's convenient.

Cosmetically a nice facility. Clean, well-maintained, and nicely equipped apartments. Most of the employees are kind and helpful. I awarded only two stars because the eating situation is really bad and what else do old people have to look forward to? Quality is one step above a high-school cafeteria, and they often run out of items on the menu. The waitresses are nice, but it can take a very long time to receive your food. There seems to be a constant turnover of dining room management. If food is important to you, I would not recommend.

I toured Pinebrook for my mom and dad. It was senior living, but not long-term care, and that's the one thing that wound up making me decide against it. It was also more expensive than what we have chosen for my parent. But it was overall excellent. When you walk in, you would see a living area where people could sit and visit. It was dressed up like a comfortable home. Then you would see the dining room, which was set up like a five-star dining room for the folks. They have a salon for men and women to get their hair and nails taken care of and it was open five days of the seven. The staff did an excellent job of showing us the facilities, what was available, and making sure all of our questions were answered. I do know they have changed chef since then, but I attended an open house about two and a half years ago and the food then was exceptional. They offer shuttle service for those that are in assisted living to go to the grocery stores and things of that nature.

I did not pick Pinebrook because of the distance from my aunt's house, but other than that, I would have placed her in that facility. That would have been my first choice because they had the best staff of everywhere that I toured, and the facility was relatively new, very clean, and very well decorated, with fresh paint on the walls. There was nothing wrong anywhere. They had staff members called Nayas specifically trained for dementia patients. Dementia patients can have temper tantrums and refuse to do some things and these Nayas are specifically trained on how to deal with them, they know what works with them and what doesn't. I've seen them in action with their clients. It's a very nice place.

I set up for an appointment to tour Pinebrook Retirement Living on a Saturday. When we got there, we went upstairs so they could show us the rooms, but she had the wrong key, so she had to go back down for the right key. I asked her if the nurses remind the residents or give them medication if they forget to take it. She said she didn't know the answer to that and I'd have to talk to a nurse. So she didn't have the answers to anything. The way the place was set up was like it's a huge H, with the main hallway in the middle, a dining room downstairs, and one upstairs. It was nice, and the dining rooms looked good, but with the way it's laid out, the person with the room at the end of the hall would have a long way to walk, so they can get to the dining room. I asked what the average price range for a studio apartment would be, and the price that she quoted me was more expensive than the other places. And that didn't even include levels of care, which would have been an additional $300 per month (just so they can give medications to my aunt). It's very nice, but somebody who needed a walker or a cane to ambulate from point A to point B would take a really long time. The lady who gave me the tour was not knowledgeable enough, and she was nervous, but she was kind and pleasant. It seems like I was the first person she showed around, so they could have somebody there to help her out. The place was clean, and just looked a little bit unkempt.

We were greeted at the reception desk at Pinebrook and the woman we had an appointment with came right out. My mom really likes the place. It's a nice place and they have activities. Everything seems to be very close at hand. The rooms are nice and seem to be pretty much on par with everything else in the area size-wise. My mom will have a nice room, with a nice, big bedroom, a nice-sized bathroom, and a living room slash eating and kitchen area. They have an exercise slash therapy area, a general store, a beauty salon, and a library.

It was very nice in Pinebrook Retirement. When my dad was failing, they moved him to assisted living in the same building, and they increased the care level round-the-clock until he went. They have activities like going on outings for lunch, field trips, painting and ceramic classes, puzzles, and activity rooms. They also do flower-arranging, a Wii-Bowling league, and chair volleyball, they have a big movie room with a piano, and they sometimes bring local kids in for concerts. There’s a wide variety of food available, but you can also get plain things even if it’s not on the menu. There’s a standard menu that you can get every day, and they also have featured items for all three meals a day. A lot of things are very good. The place is always clean, and they are on top of the up-keep. The staff is very nice; they know everybody and treat them as family. The value is very reasonable. My mother is in assisted living so they check on her if they haven’t seen or heard from her. They also launder her linens and she gets three meals a day.

I am in Pinebrook. This place is great. The people are very friendly and very helpful. I am in a studio apartment with plenty of room for me. They are just fantastic here. I cannot say enough about that. Their food tastes good. However, for me, the breakfast is too early in the morning. They have a game room, computers, volleyball, and yoga.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I’ll read your review to the team and thank them for a job well done. We looked closely at the breakfast schedule and will continue to monitor to see if folks prefer service after 9:00am. They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day so we want to make sure you don’t miss out! Thanks for choosing Pinebrook; we value you and your requests. Sincerely, Dennis Curley, Executive Director

My parents are on Pinebrook's assisted living floor. It is wonderful. The nurses are always checking in on them. When my dad’s condition started to deteriorate, they brought hospice in to check on them a couple times a day. They were there 24/7 during the last couple of days. They have all kinds of activities, field trips, a gym, a craft room, and a hair salon. My parents do not participate in the activities, but I know on Thursdays, they always go someplace, like out to lunch or the theater. They do crafts, like the women do flower pot arranging, knitting, and puzzles. They also have a bowling league for Wii bowling. The food is good. Sometimes they have complaints due to the difficulty of chewing things. My mother has difficulty with her teeth while chewing. My mother has three meals a day, including a hot breakfast. The building has continental breakfast and then, two other hot meals a day. They always have a basic menu you can order from like sandwiches, hamburger, soup of the day, and a couple entrees. They really have some good choices.

We chose Pinebrook Retirement Living, and my mom will be moving in next week. We like it because it’s close to her friends and neighborhood. The place is very, very nice. They have a craft room, happy hour, wine tasting, and a beautiful fitness center where she can do her physical therapy. They have a dining room on her floor, so she does not necessarily need to go down to the main dining room. The staff was very informative and answered every question we had. Overall, it’s very nice.

Pinebrook was one of the newer facilities I visited. The rooms were real nice. They showed me both one bedroom and two bedrooms apartments. They had transportation, they had an exercise room, and a nice, big dining area. The staff was real nice, seemed to be real knowledgeable about what she was doing. The residents seemed to be happy and enjoyed what they have there.

We made two trips to Pinebrook and were very impressed with both the facility and the people we met both times. The facility is relatively new, very tastefully decorated and just a very pleasant place to be. We were able to have lunch on our second visit, and the food was very good. The apartments are quite spacious and I especially appreciated all the safety details in the assisted living units. While we were not able to interact with many of the staff, Aimee was always extremely helpful and willing to answer any question at any time. She is a sweet, caring individual who has truly found her calling. While we were not able to work out any arrangements for moving my father to Pinebrook, I would not hesitate to recommend Pinebrook to anyone who was considering a retirement community for their aging parent.

My husband and I visited this community twice hoping to move my very independent mother to a location closer to the family. One visit was a last minute phone call and the second was a scheduled appointment and what we saw was the same....a super nice staff and a clean and tastefully decorated building. Very warm and welcoming community. The apartments were the largest we had seen. The bathrooms were my favorite. They were very safe and arranged to allow ample space for mobility. The apartment floor plans were really thought out well. Great location. Pinebrook was our choice but the final decsion was moms and she choose a community in a location that she was most familiar.

I chose Pinebrook for my aunt. What I like most about it are the services and location. The efficiency apartment is much larger here than in the other two places I visited, so I knew she'd be able to take more of her personal belongings with her.

Pinebrook was fantastic. I’m in my 70s, and I think if I needed to go somewhere that’s where I go. The people that worked there were very accommodating and friendly. I just felt the comfort there.

My mom just moved into Pinebrook Retirement Living about six weeks ago. She is still in therapy, so she isn't able to do so much. She is not all that happy yet though. I just called their activity director to make her get out and do more things and stuff. They have crafting, exercise room, and a lot of amenities. Her room is nice. The service in helping her get situated was also good. The people are very friendly to her when she goes down to eat in the dining room. Their dining room is very nice as well. The facility itself is very pretty. Its lobby is beatiful. They do have a lot of services too. They take her to the doctor if she needs a ride. One thing my mother doesn't like is, they drive so fast. Fortunately, the place is in a convenient location where a lot of shopping areas are around it. The one thing that they should improve on is introductions for new residents. They should mix things for the residents when there are new people. It is a way of introducing the new person to the other residents.

Thank you so much for your feedback. We work hard to live up to high expectations for every individual, every day and to ensure that new members of the Pinebrook family feel welcome and right at home. First of all, I want to assure you I will speak with each and every driver personally to remind them how important it is to drive nice and slowly, even if that means driving under the speed limit. The comfort and security of our residents and riders always comes first.
As for your mom’s engagement and involvement, I’m glad you called us to request some extra encouragement. Please continue to stay in touch with us and let us know how she is adjusting so we can do our very best job to help her thrive. Your suggestions for mixers and introductions is a good one. We have a number of meet and greet opportunities for our new residents and I will check in with all of our “Floor Ambassadors” - residents who assist and encourage new residents to participate in events and activities as well as escort them to their first few lunches and dinners. Please call me at any time to learn more about our weekly Happy Hours, monthly Community Life meetings, monthly Town Hall meetings where I introduce all new residents and monthly New Resident Luncheons. As your mom gets better and better from her therapy I’m betting she’ll become more and more active and involved. Please don’t hesitate to call me at any time to help us help her any way we can. Sincere thanks, Dennis Curley, Executive Director

We moved my mother into a retirement community called Pinebrook. We chose this place because it was a little bit better location for her and also they provide three meals a day. My mother enjoys the food. She has been there for two months now and overall she is doing fine. They have all kinds of activities to keep their clients occupied like crafts, music nights and movie nights. They also have group trips to a local shopping center or to the drug store. We like that they have free transportation service. The best thing about this place is that my mother doesn't have to cook, clean or grocery shop.

I first visited Pinebrook when my husband and I just "dropped by" one afternoon. Although we didn't give them any advance notice, the staff members were very friendly and went out of their way to show us the facility. At the time, we were looking at retirement options for my elderly parents, and Pinebrook seemed to offer the best services at a reasonable price. They have been residents there since April, and my main regret is that we didn't relocate them sooner, since there are so many social and learning opportunities they could have taken advantage of. The Pinebrook employees are exceptional in their personal contact with the residents, and I highly recommend that interested parties contact Aimee for a personal tour.

My mother has been at Pinebrook almost a year. I truly believe she would not be with us if it were not for living at Pinebrook. She was no longer able to drive and had become depressed and most of her friend had past or did not drive either. Pinebrook offered her a way to make new friends. There are a variety of activities for the residents to take advantage of. The staff are friendly and always speak to the residents using their name. All the staff, including new ones and know the names of the residents, even the new ones. I can't say enough great things about Pinebrook.

"We feel so lucky to have located this senior retirement home. Everyone goes the extra mile for you here. It is great with all of the safety features for the senior citizens including the handicap showers and they daily making sure you are O.K. There are a lot of activities that you can participate in or not. We visited several other senior retirement and this was the best by far. If anyone is looking for a great place, you have to come and visit us. Bobby and Nettie Jo Brandi Childs

My mother and I visited Pinebrook while she was visiting from Florida. She wanted to visit retirement communities for when she "needed" it in the future. After visiting Pinebrook we went to 6 other facilities. We then went back to Pinebrook for a second look. It was at that time that my mother decided that Pinebrook would be her new home, not in a year or two. Within 2 months she was settled into her new apartment at Pinebrook. She has met so many new friends and the employees treat me as well as her as old friends. Pinebrook's facility is clean, modern, and homey. The staff is so helpful to the residents. She worries about being a burden to me but now she can rely on Pinebrook to transport her to doctors' appointments, shopping, etc. Her apartment is cleaned by professionals and now when I visit, I can just concentrate on spending quality time with my mother.

My mom moved there almost three years ago after living alone in a large home after my father died about seven years ago. While it was very difficult to "talk her into" making the move, she now says that she wishes she had moved there years ago. To say that the Pinebrook staff are incredible is an understatement. It is a smaller community and they make every effort to truly KNOW each resident as an individual. From every angle, my mom seems to have actually "reverse aged" since she has been there. Couldn't offer enough compliments as a very pleased family member.

My mother is at Pinebrook and she couldn't be happier. I never thought I would see my mother live again after my dad died. When my mother made the move into Pinebrook their staff was incredible. They checked on her everyday. They took time to introduce her to new people and helped her make friends. Every time I go and visit my mother everyone that works there says hello and greets me with a smile. They know me as well as my mother and I hear all about how she is doing. I love that Pinebrook is small because I feel like my mother wouldn't of gotten the attention she needed if it was a bigger place. Pinebrook, thank you for giving my mother a reason to get out of bed everyday and keep moving. You all are incredible!

The staff was rather friendly although they really didn't seem to know what was going on. The people seemed happy and I heard that the food is great though. They had many crafts and activities to do and overall the place is very peaceful and quiet.
