"My dad is currently at the Maine Veterans Home. I feel very fortunate to have him there. The care is excellent. They are very patient, thorough and deliver high quality nursing care. He is in the "res" care unit but i would feel comfortable with any of the units. People who wish to work at this facility wait awhile until a position becomes available as it is the kind of place where people stay a long time. That tells me good things. It is extremely clean and inviting. "

"My husband was in Norway Center for Health for rehab. They were an excellent community. I would rate them a five because I'm a CNA and I have worked with different communities. All of the staff members were great; they were very helpful. The food was very good. I saw some of their activities. I would rate them a four on that."

"It seemed OK. They are short staffed there, but you get good care. The rooms are very small. I like that they listen. When you say something is wrong or you need something, they listen to you. I am in their rehab facility. They have activities like bingo and different games you could play. They also have entertainment come in. "

"We toured The Odd Fellows' and Rebekahs' Home of Maine. What we liked about the community was that my grandmother was still able to do things on her own. So, she does like being alone, but also people will be checking on her, and she also has her own independence, and she would have her own room. A big thing for my grandmother was having her own space and not having to share it with a roommate, and this place has that option. The staff did very well. She was able to answer all of our questions very well, making us comfortable, and took the time to hear what my grandmother was looking for, and if the place would be a good fit for her or not, and was able to find an opening for my grandmother. It came up a lot sooner than we had thought. So that was very good as well. It's all three meals a day and snacks. They have an outside area. It's kind of like a deck right outside with direct supervision. They're able to walk in different walking paths around the building outside. They also have a courtyard, like a patio for all the residents to use where they do events."

"I thought this care facility was a very nice and welcoming place. My grandmother had a nice room mate and was well taken care of. My family and I would often wheel her into the activity room to visit or down to the front seating area where they had parakeets in a cage. The nursing staff was friendly and checked in on my grandmother often. We never had trouble finding a nurse when she needed one. They had a hairdressing service, which was important to gram. She also did not mind the food, but missed cooking herself. The facility was clean and tidy. It did smell like "old people", but I guess that cannot be helped. Thankfully they were able to help her recover and she was able to regain most of her functions. We were very happy with her care until she passed. "
