Food decent. Place clean and doesn’t smell. Failed to give pills when due said patient was asleep. Room had no chair and no wastebasket for patient until I went to Administrator ultimately to get one. One small sofa in lobby to sit when visiting. Try to get management? Always in meetings. Nurses and aids seemed caring and decent. Doctor failed to return my callback requests. Likely a safe place but lacks many things that would make it easily a whole lot better. For $8000+ a month sure seems like could be a whole lot better.

The rooms are filthy. The floor had not been swept or cleaned for days and the same food and grunge was on the floor three days in a row. Urinal left on bed stand when meal was served (More than once), rude nurse had to be instructed to not speak to resident in a demeaning/terse tone, call button on floor under the bed and inaccessible. Soiled linens on the bed even after asking they be changed the day prior. Clothes heaped in closet and unfolded. Clean clothes mixed with dirty clothes and a bed pan thrown atop all the clothes. Residents not bathed, drinks served warm and without straws to aid in consumption. Roommates clothing mixed with residents clothing despite both residents having clearly marked clothing. Just indicative of the lack of care. Resident left in feces laden undergarment for over an hour and call button was out of reach. Even after summonsing assistance, no one came to cleanse the resident. Hospital gown soiled. I think you get the picture. This place definitely needs a great deal of unannounced inspections from the Health and Human Services. All they are doing is warehousing people. No care or compassion whatsoever. Disgusting.

My mother has Dementia and in the original wing she was doing well. Then she got moved and started falling all the time with no one around. They sent her to the hospital at least once a week for falls when I was assured that would not happen. On two seperate occaisons, I tried to find some one to help my mom to the bathroom and there was no one around. She sat in soiled underpants for 2 hours waiting for help because she could not get up. The second time, she was thirsty and again, no one was around to give her water. The rooms are nice, but do not trust the staff when you need them. They say top priority was confidentiality, but somehow, people that was not suppose to not know, knew before me. They charge to much for top secrecy and fail that. They say the resedents are safe, but not from what I saw. In two weeks, my mom fell up to 7 times, fractured left hip, and dislocated the same hip. Now how is that safe? How is confidentiality kept when others know what is going on before the Power Of Attorneys?

I visited your facility and I don't know exactly what u get payed to care for these people but oine grilled cheese and a bowl of applesause is considered dinner. That's said. You call it heart healthy. I call it cheap. These people grew up on meat and potatoes. You won't allow family to bring in food or that's what u told us neways. Its like school lunch everyday. People please don't put ur loved ones in a home unless total last resort.

I'd heard good things about the Rumford Community Home, but when we tried to get my mom in here after she broke her arm and needed skilled nursing care (until we could bring her home again), we couldn't get a firm commitment that they had an open bed. Every time we called, we got a different answer and finally had to make other arrangements.

I have an aunt & uncle here at the Rumford Community Home. They are treated with respect and the CNA's do a wonderful job with them. There are several activities held for the patients each day.
