"My grandmother has been a resident of Marengo Nursing Home in Linden alabama for several years now, and seems to be very happy there. When ever I go to visit her, the staff is always friendly and knows me by name when I walk in the door. Keep in mind that I do not visit on a daily or weekly basis. Before my grandmother entered the nursing home, she did not like associating with many people. Now she speaks to almost everyone that walks by her door, and normally has a smile on her face. They make arrangements to get her back and forth to doctors appointments and even carry her to walmart at times. She seems to have lots of fun on the outings or even at the activities the nursing home plans. I have been very satisfied with the amount of care and respect my grandmother has recieved while being a resident at Marengo Nursing Home. As long as she and I both remain happy with the level of care and respect she will continue to be a resident. I have no wish to remove her for any reason. "

"This place was terrible. My grandmother was an alzheimers patient, so she didn't understand how bad it was. The air conditioner in her room was broken most of the time, her mini-fridge (stocked with Boost) was often raided by the nursing staff, and theft was a huge problem. She often had her jewelry and clothing stolen or 'misplaced' as the staff put it. "

"Lakeside nursing home has the friendliest staff. My aunt was treated like very well there. Every time I visited the facility it was very clean. My aunt was always up and active. All the residents seemed to be quite happy. The staff always had activities planned for them. My aunt attended church services very often in the nursing home. She would get her hair and nails done once a week by a cosmetologist who came to the facility. Friends and relatives could visit anytime during visiting hours. She always said the food was very good and she always had plenty to eat. She passed away about two years ago but we are happy that her last few years were spent in comfort with people who took care of her like she was their own family. Our family was very satisfied with the services Lakeside provided and would definitely use Lakeside again if it was necessary. "

"The first time he was sent here, he was only there for 3 days before the nurse came in one morning and found him blue and struggling to breathe. He was sent by ambulance to a hospital nearby and back to another hospital. The second time he was there, he was in much better health and they have taken excellent care of him. They are doing all they can to prepare him to live in his own gome again. "
