"My dad has been in the rehab portion of Mineral Springs of North Conway Care and Rehabilitation Center. Overall, it is very good. The building itself and the staff members are very nice and very pleasant. The dining rooms are very comfortable, and there are places where a resident can go and get out of the room for much of the day if they want to. The physical therapy is great. It is pretty good. Mineral Springs is a comfortable place. The rooms are a little bit small, but my dad does get out of the room when he wants to and go to another location, so he doesn’t have to stay in the room the whole time. I’ve seen the people coming in there and keeping everything clean. He has plenty of closet space. "

"We went to Meredith Bay Colony Club and it seemed very nice. It was very clean and very quiet. The staff took us to both the independent and assisted living area, which were in the same building but different apartments. He showed us one of each apartment and I thought the apartments were really nice. They had lots of windows and everything seemed very clean. There were three dining rooms and they looked really nice. I knew they offered different things, but when we were there, there wasn't much going on and it was quiet. Part of the problem with Meredith Bay was the availability. You could put a deposit down and you would have it back whether or not you would stay there, but he said they had a waiting list of about 35 people and they had about 5 units available a year. So, it might take a long time for you to be there. "

"When my family first told me they were sending my grandparents to live in an assisted living center I was mortified. I could not imagine my sweet grandparents be subjected to, what I thought was, this horrible type of lifestyle. I have heard stories almost all my life about how horrible these places are to their clients. This is NOT the case in Fryeburg. I have never met people who were so loving and considerate of the people living in their facility. They really do their best to make each client feel like they are at home. The day before my grandfather passed was extemely stressful on me, but the staff there made me feel so welcomed and loved that it was like he was at home with all his extended family around. I know that when he passed he was surrounded by people who cared about him. I could not possibly say enough thanks to the staff there that has gone above and beyond for my family. God bless you all. My grandmother is still there and is treated like a queen! "

"The staff in this facility have been kind, attentive, caring and sincere with the care of my family member. They treat her as if she was a family member of their own. Upon my visits (announced or not) I have never found her in a condition that was unacceptable. The facility appears to have all that she needs to be comfortable and happy. There are many opportunities for activities and socialization. They even have cats that are permanent residents who are well loved, too. I am very happy that she is locally accessible to visit and happy with her stay. "

"I've visited here, and it's a very nice facility. The people are very nice, and they all have very positive things to say about the place. The staff were attentive. The rooms are very clean and open. We took a tour of their dining area, and it's really nice. Its setup almost like a restaurant. We saw people playing games and puzzles, and for me that's very positive. "

"I went to Belknap County Nursing Home. I think it's a great place. The facility has two courtyards with rooms circling each of those courtyards. There's a large activity area, and their staff seem to be very well trained. The rooms have two people in them. It's a long room, and they're nice and big. The dining area is very nice, and it's divided into different pods, so people can sit in groups."

"The large rooms with minimal choices in space and activity gave an "institutional" feel. Staff was professional,but had no interaction with clients while I was there."

"I moved to Sunrise Towers. It's huge and it's very clean. They clean every day. There's a kitchen here. There's a laundry room. There's a lot of plus things. The staff is wonderful. The food is great, and they're good cooks. This is the best place I could have gone."

"The people working at Genesis are very helpful and responsive. My father greatly enjoyed his stay. He found the therapists very helpful. At one point there was a family meeting which involved four employees, including social worker, nurse, therapist and recreation therapist. They were all very helpful and reassuring. The family was kept apprised of changes and issues. My father enjoyed the food and there were lots of snacks and activities going on. I was pleasantly surprised by the facility and people working there. "

"I would highly recommend Saint Francis Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Mom has been there three times and they go above and beyond. They seem like a very caring and attentive staff. They attend to all the residents' needs. They help Mom, they don’t leave her side, and they encourage her. All the people there are very professional and they know what they're doing. The food seems to be very good, the entertainment is wonderful, and they have a really nice patio to sit out on. They're spot on with everything that they're doing, and we have been very pleased with them."

"If you are looking for a home away from home feel this is your place. I think they said they could have up to 16 people and they currently have 14. It is like they all have are one big family. The staff has been great. The last time I went the residents were playing bingo and having a blast."

"The Lodges care is absolutely wonderful and we chose it for my parents because of the location. It’s very clean. "

"My grandmother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's years before her stay at the Newton Center. She stayed there for a short stay, having only been there for rehabilitation. The staff were a mixed bunch; some were very kind and full of smiles, while others seemed to think most of the patients were bothersome, but I suppose those mixed attitudes can be found almost anywhere. The facility was kept clean, although at one point my grandmother's stuffed animal went missing. However, the social worker assigned to my grandmother was more than willing to track it down for her. All in all, it was a nice place for her to stay in even though I wish the nurses would react to the patients' needs a little more quickly. "

"My husband is very satisfied at Greenwood Center, although I am not satisfied, sometimes. He is eating everything and anything, which surprises me. He is so fat. There were only a couple of times where he told them that there are certain things he didn’t want to eat, and they have made a note and didn’t serve it to him. The staff and the help are friendly. It’s clean and the service is good, too. I have attempted to move him before, but I wouldn’t attempt it now. At the beginning, he wanted to come home all the time, and now he doesn’t even mention it.
