We visited the memory care facility of Edgemont Place in Blaine. The community was very friendly, and everybody looked very engaged in the activity or in the care that we saw there. We were given a tour by, I believe, the maintenance person because the person who normally did that wasn't available. I don't know if it was a totally comprehensive tour, but he showed us all the areas, including the activity areas, and the areas where people would be showering or bathing if they didn't have that in their own rooms. We saw individual rooms and the dining area. Outside, in the common area, people had little individual gardens if they wished to do that, and that was very impressive. The size of the rooms seemed adequate. They had a room with a private bath and a room with a shared bath. I think they have a room where you could have another person in it to share, too. The place was clean, and it felt like they really went out of their way to honor each person individually. Everybody had a little memory box outside their door with pictures. They paid special attention to veterans, too, so what we saw was impressive. It was also well-laid out, quiet, and inviting. We were also able to park in front of the building. We didn't have any difficulty on that particular day. The person who gave us the tour was doing a job that he doesn't normally do. I think if he's normally doing maintenance and custodial care, but he was giving us the tour, so based on that, he did a very nice job. I thought he was very informative and gave us good information. He pointed out a lot of things that you might not think to ask about. We were given a folder of information that had pricing and information in it. After we got home, a couple of days later, I got a call, and the information in the packet wasn't current with what the person told me in terms of cost. That was a bit unsettling because nobody mentioned that anything like that had changed or that prices were changing. I think I found that to be kind of disappointing.
