I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My dad and stepmother were transferred to Aicota after a hospital stay. The first couple weeks, the staff seemed friendly and willing to help. My step mother ended up passing away there within a short time. My dad became depressed and begged us to get him out of there. We soon learned it was more than his wife passing. When we call to talk to him, it usually takes several calls to get through. A lot of times we feel we are scolded for calling and several times have been told to call back. there is a lot of paperwork that needs taken care of and since we live in another town and with COVID19 restrictions, I have requested that I email forms for them to have my dad sign and email back. If you get a caring staff member, it is usually ok'd. Get the wrong staff member and it is refused. I feel with the restricted visitations, my dad needs to be in a place with more caring and understanding individuals taking care of our loved ones.

I am a friend or relative of resident

My great aunt was at this assisted living home for 5 months. We moved her due to her high-end, double-the-cost, assisted living facility in the northern suburbs having major changes in administration and staff and a great decline in the care she was receiving. At the previous facility even her friends living there were concerned that she was being neglected and not encouraged to come to meals and activities. Aikota's administration, nurses and staff as a whole were incredibly organized, caring and provided her excellent care. My great aunt got so much more than "assisted living" at Aikota; she got time and attention and truly was cared for the way that anyone would want their loved one cared for. I cannot give high enough praise and thanks to Aikota Assisted Living.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

The staff was very friendly and willing to help. You could tell that they were concerned with the comfort of their guests. The facility was very clean and had a peaceful atmosphere. There was a very nice, paved walking path outside that gave residents a safe and relaxing way to get outside and enjoy the fresh air. There was even a propane campfire for the guests to sit around. My grandpa was not thrilled about living in an assisted living center but I think he made the best of it and Aicota made that possible. He took part in Bingo, watched tv, and met new people. His room was not huge, but it was spacious enough for him to be comfortable and the nurses were there to help with any physical needs that he had. I would give Aicota Assisted Living an A for the way that they care for their residents. Everyone there was involved in making the lives of their guest more enjoyable.
