My wife moved to Evergreen Terrace Assisted Living. It's a very caring environment and a very home-like feel. They have a staff that can deal with her Alzheimer's. I've been there for lots of meals, and I'm watching how well she's eating. She gets to eat dessert first. They serve three meals a day. There is quite a bit of activity. I go in and read to the seniors one day a week, so the people come in and play music, play bingo,and do coloring. They have a full-time activities director and she's very active with them.

Evergreen Terrace is a nice, clean facility. They only have 20 residents, and it's really home-like, not institutional, which appealed to us. The staff is extremely friendly, and I was very impressed with the interactions with the residents. They had an activities director. The day I was visiting, they were doing bingo. They do Christmas parties, Christmas auction's and crafts, so there are a lot of structured activities.

Evergreen Terrace in Big Rapids, MI is definitely a must see. My grandmother is a current resident of this facility and she is happy about her home. She has lived in this facility for almost two years now. When I first entered this facility, I did not feel as in it was a facility at all. This place made me feel as if I was walking into pure luxury. It has comfortable,woodsy , cabin type decor upon entrance. It is very clean, smells nice and the staff is upbeat, professional and their work ethic is outstanding.The layout of the facility is exceptional. I felt like I was walking into a top notch hotel. My grandmother lives in this facility and her apartment has a bathroom, living room, bedroom and mini kitchen. Me and my children have spent the night with her on several occasions and it just feels like home. I am happy and comfortable with her living there. She is allowed to come and go as she please and does not have the restriction, smell or appearance of a traditional nursing home.I could not ask for a better place for my grandmother to be!
