"Working with dementia residents can be very challenging and I would like to recognize a CNA at Beach House who has made a very positive impact on a gentleman I represent. She established a positive, caring relationship that never fails to surprise me. How did she do this? I’ve noticed the following: she calls him Father, (which is how he sees himself), she asks rather than tells him to do certain actions and gives a reason. She recognizes his hearing deficit and gives him time to answer her requests, and she consistently thanks him for doing the correct thing. And when he fails to comply with correct behavior, she simply says, I’m leaving now. (I’ll be back.) Because of this respect, he trusts her. It’s a beautiful thing to watch. And, one more thing: since he is an Irish born, she understands and honors the fact that he comes from a different culture than most other residents. She not only is a hard worker but she has mastered the “secret:” Don’t focus on the disease, and all its many foibles; work toward making the “best” out of the day that can exist. Beach House fosters this kind of service at their fine facility. Thank you to her and Thank you, Beach House. "

"Emeritus seemed very well organized. The staff seemed to be very friendly. We saw general open areas, and we saw people having lunch. I also went inside their memory unit. The place seemed nice. "

"Arden Courts of Tampa is close to my home. I'm only using it for respite so it would be easy for me to go back and forth. I liked the setup and the way it was arranged. I liked the staff; the marketing person stopped by the house to see us and meet my husband. They said I could bring him in on certain days so he could get familiar with the place, which is good. They have a menu, but the clients have the option to have something else. They have socials, like ice cream socials and coffee socials. The staff was very friendly and open to considering my questions. Their facility is broken into different units with individual rooms for social gatherings. "

"My mother will be moving into Angels Senior Living at New Tampa memory care unit. So far, so good. We have to move our own furniture in, but the room was clean and the size was good for us. The staff was nice, and they have good service. They have activities, but very simple ones. They have everything inside. They're pretty new."

"I visited Belvedere Commons. It was a nice place; it was a little smaller than we expected, but the staff was very nice. It was a little too expensive for my aunt, but I would recommend it for those who can afford it. "

"Seacoast at Uptown Oaks was clean. It was an old place. There were a lot of people out and about socializing. There were no activities when we were there, but it was kind of close to lunchtime. It was nice. They had a nice smoking area and an enclosed area. They couldn't wander off. Their facilities were nice. The people were extremely friendly. The staff who gave the tour was a salesman. He was a nice guy. It was an older place, so it wasn't bright and sunny like a lot of the newer places. It was three stories, which was not what I was looking for. Nevertheless, the people there were not the golf course set, but they were just regular people. They had good-looking food, and it was restaurant-style. They had a library. They would take our cats. They had private studios. There was some construction, so we didn't get to see everything. The staff all knew the residents' names. The dining room was clean and attractive. They provided three meals a day. They had a lot of nice activities there. "

"The assisted living facility of Discovery Village Trinity was very nice. They had a very beautiful dining room. We had wanted a two-bedroom apartment with two baths, but I think they only had a two-bedroom one with one bath. We got to visit one of the residents, and she showed us a room. It was very light and airy, and it had a full refrigerator. It was very nice. They take you on trips, do food shopping, and take you to your doctor's office. I think they also had a beauty parlor. The person who welcomed and gave us the tour was extremely lovely, very warm, and very nice. It gave us a good feeling about the place."

"Promise Pointe Senior Living was a good place. They had the dining, the housekeeping, and everything, but they were a little expensive. I liked the apartment they showed me. They had good activities. It was really nice."

"We went to Sunflower Springs. I liked the newness and the cleanliness. I liked the fact that the staff and everybody seemed to like everybody, including the residents. I didn't like the fact that they had no pool or stove. The rest of it was nice, but it was on the high end of very expensive. The tour was great. They have a theater, and they have an ice cream parlor. They have arts and crafts."

"My mom moved into Elevated Estates of New Port Richey. We chose them because they had a better dining room, areas where the residents could go outside, and more residents on the same level as my mother. Her apartment is very small and within the price range. Every time I go in there, somebody's cleaning. They speak a lot of Spanish, which my mother is going crazy about because when they talk to each other, it's always Spanish, and then it's very broken English, so that's difficult."

"It is one of the best facilities the staff is very friendly answered all my questions the rooms are beautiful. I was very impressed on how friendly the staff was I will definetly placing my loved ones here when the time comes."

"Magnolia Trails at East Lake is a breathtaking community that is bright, high tech and filled with passionate individuals. The food is outstanding and on staff they have an Italian chef that makes his homemade Italian cuisines including Italian pastries!!!! Activities are full of life and geared towards both men and women. The culture I witnessed was positive, inspiring and staff all seemed very happy and passionate. The Director has 27 years of experience and is also a nurse which is the perfect combination for a leader in a senior living community. If you are looking for a community that gives its all to help our communities seniors than look no further! I was really impressed by my experience and will definitely recommend Magnolia Trails."

"We chose Brookdale New Port Richey for my husband because they had given me a very good price, and I wanted more of assisted living than a skilled nursing. The facility is very nice, and the room is lovely. The staff is very helpful and very friendly. If there's anything I need to ask them, they call me right back. He's very happy. He's in assisted living, but they also have the memory care unit. They administer his medications. They have one large dining area and one that's a little bit more intimate. Their food is good, and the portions are good especially for him. They have buses to the grocery stores, Wal-Mart, pharmacies, and restaurants. It's like living in a hotel."

"The staff is excellent and very personal and caring toward my mother and myself. Christine the manager goes out of her way to make sure that my mom feels like she's at home. My mom calls the staff member her daughters and that they protect her and look out for her. The facilities is clean and the cleaning staff also care about the residents Overall an excellent place I sleep well knowing my mom is well taken care of."
